Ahhh my friends, I have been so absent here but so very busy with my family and now again with my art! I haven’t shared that we were so excited to be invited back as vendors at this year’s All-Nations Pow Wow in Toronto! 💖 And after the last little bit especially, we can’t wait.
Honestly we weren’t so sure how the weekend would look for us - it has been an insane couple of weeks for us since Curve Lake.. BUT it looks like the trio will be together as usual and oh so happy to see you October 3rd, (THIS Saturday) 12–5PM @ UTM Recreation, Athletics and Wellness Centre (RAWC). 😍 See you there!! 🥰

SEVEN GENERATIONS FORWARD
WHAT WE CARRY FORWARD

Thirty stories.

Children who were loved.

Children who were taken.

Children who survived.

Children who never came home.

Families interrupted.

Languages silenced.

Land taken.

Systems that still carry the shape of colonialism.

And through every part of this story:

Children still laughing.

Families still loving.

Languages returning.

Culture living.

Nations leading.

Young people imagining more.

Remembering the Children was never meant to leave us only with grief.

Remembering asks something of us.

Understanding today asks something of us.

And Seven Generations Forward asks the biggest question of all:

What will the children who come after us inherit from the choices we make now?

Will they inherit apologies — or repair?

Promises — or clean water?

Programs — or real belonging?

Consultation — or self-determination?

Stories about languages that almost disappeared — or languages they simply speak?

Will Indigenous children seven generations from now still be asking Canada to honour commitments made generations before them?

Or will they inherit something different?

A country where truth is ordinary.

Where treaties are honoured.

Where children remain connected to family and Nation.

Where culture is lived without explanation or permission.

Where land and water are protected.

Where Indigenous knowledge helps shape education, health, science, justice, and governance.

Where Indigenous children know exactly who they are — and never have to fight a system for the right to belong.

Seven Generations thinking reminds us that the future is not somewhere we are going.

We are creating it now.

Every policy.

Every classroom.

Every hospital.

Every child welfare decision.

Every relationship.

Every time we choose whether to listen.

We carry the past.

We shape the present.

And we leave something behind.

So what will we carry forward?

May it be truth.

May it be responsibility.

May it be courage.

May it be relationship.

May it be love.

And may the children seven generations from now look back at this time and know:

This was when we chose differently.

Friends, we have worked so hard and put so much love and intention into each and every piece. 💖 We are grateful for inspiration, our beautiful Earth and all life on it, we are grateful for connection, and we are so so grateful to be able to share it all with you. ✨
Here is a little look at the week’s offerings and what we will be bringing to Curve Lake this weekend for the pow wow. 😍

And, I just want to say Meegwetch. For it all.

Today was a great day for connecting here in Brampton, especially with my fellow vendors. We certainly become friends after working so much in the same spaces. We always enjoy seeing familiar smiles and getting a chance to get to know one another better. It truly is such a beautiful support system to have and I’m feeling especially grateful. Not to say we haven’t met a lovely customer - there have been so many. 💖
We are just so excited for the weekend though - we have SO much to share. Some new things for the table, loads of Aria’s designs, most of my themed boxed girls with mocs AND if they can stay with me the week, quite a few wing earrings my friends. 😍 It’s been a special little while for me and I have felt so very inspired. ✨🦋✨ Curve Lake is a special place for us and the perfect place to share them, and we are so looking forward to gathering there Saturday and Sunday for their 73rd Annual Traditional Pow Wow. 💖
We would love to see you there.

Here in Brampton for OFNEDA First Nations Economic Advancement Conference. ☺️ We will be here most of the week and look forward to making connections and sharing our art. Lucky to have heard Stan’s voice right away… a voice from my childhood and northern home. (We remember him in many wonderful ways 😘 iykyk) Always so special to bump into people you haven’t seen in a long time and even better when you share some memories and loved ones. Getting a hug from my late childhood friend’s brother meant the world. Meegwetch Jay. 💖
Now the fam is on the hunt for coffee and we are going to think about what else we can do while we are here. We are indeed here for work, but if we can explore or hug a brother we absolutely will. This busy week leads us to an even busier weekend after all - Curve Lake hosts their pow wow and we cannot wait. 💖 Perhaps we will see you there?
