My Blue China Rose Quilt is finished, and I have to say, I am thrilled with it.

A lot of firsts for me in this quilt, which stressed me a little.
Once I told myself it was a test quilt, I settled down, enjoyed the learning and the process.

My inability (or so I thought) to hand sew binding neatly, has stopped me binding my previous quilts, and although it took me 3 days (this, of course in time, will not take as long) I felt it was time well spent.

I hope you guys like it as much as I do, as I see more Rose Quilts on the horizon 💙

As promised, an update on how I've decided to do a French/Antique Rose quilt. These are approximately ¼ of the test pieces I've done. Comments are in the photos.

It's been a while since I've posted on here, but a lot of work has been going on in the background.
I decided I wanted more detail on some of my quilts. For example, I wanted to be able to neatly sew around parts of the design on a fabric, or, maybe to sew a design on plain fabric. And, I really want to make a French/Antique Rose quilt. For this I need to be skilled in Free Motion Quilting (FMQ). Apparently, there needs to be between 9-11 of the same sized stitch to 1 inch. Consistency is key!
I have to admit I did try this a few years ago, but became frustrated with it very quickly, so I put it to one side. I now need this skill, so every day I practice. The process is going something like this 😱😳😭😀🙈😍😭😥🫣🙂🤔🤕
It's going to take a while yet, but I'll keep you posted on the progress 😘

It's been a busy summer and autumn, but I'm now back to quilting daily!!!

This is the first of 3 Christmas quilts that I hope to have finished for the coming weekend's Fall Market. Just in time for the first snow to fall ❄️

Oh yes, I definitely think this was worth the little extra time working with an ombre fabric.
This little beauty already has a new home 😊

I am grateful for the rain today. It will allow me to get this beauty finished.
This is my first time using an ombre fabric, I'm pretty excited to see the end result.

For one reason or another this quilt has been 2 years in the making.
Each fabric is significant to the person it has been made for. A person who is very dear to my heart.
This, with another 2 quilts, will be making their way to the UK 🇬🇧 this week. One of the quilts will continue its journey to Australia 🇦🇺
