What can we say?
Thank you so much for stopping by Robert McMillan Pottery 🥰❤️🥰🇨🇦
Our hearts of overwhelmed by your kindness, and support of Robert’s art, craft and trade!❤️
We have been blown away by your stories of what his pottery means to you and how far his pots have travelled in the world! Denmark, UK, Singapore, Japan, Australia, Chile, many places across the United States, Canada and beyond!
For years Robert has spent his years behind the wheel and now that the Studio is open for tours Robert get’s to hear your stories while he shares some of his!
So thank you for sharing and being a part of our experience! We have a great time in the Studio as well as up in the Gallery.
We talk pots and pottery but we talk life, make friends, find connections between people through laughing, listening to music and sharing conversations! In the Potter’s workspace and outside in the Potter’s Porch and garden areas, we are becoming the place to BE!
It is not just a place to buy pottery, it’s a place where time stands still and the focus is on joy of creation and connecting with people!
We take pictures, hug and have fun!
You might have dropped in to meet us or check out Robert’s beautiful pottery! I take a lot of pictures to share with you on our posts. You might see yourself in them. What great times we had!
The last few weeks has been a blur getting the pots through the process, out of the kilns, sanded smooth and photographed and on the shelves.
Robert worked days throwing mugs and bowls, drying (even putting them to dry in the meadow!) glazing and getting them in and out of the kilns!
Phoenix was even firing beside DraGON this week giving us 3 loads of pottery for the week that carried us through from Thursday to Sunday and I’m pleased to say many were pleased with their soup bowls, mugs, wine cups, teapots and larger bowls!
In the swirl line we only had 2 Soup Bowls and 1 stubby mug left that will go to shipped orders across Canada🇨🇦 So guess what? We SOLD OUT completely of the Swirls by Sunday night! 😳😮🥰😃😃👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
We had many visitors in from UK, South Carolina and many from Alberta this weekend and Ontario and a sweet couple from Turkey!
We are so surprised by the numbers from local PEI: Kensington, Summerside,Charlottetown,Cornwall and the Eastern tip of the Island Montague!❤️ And the many visitors from New Brunswick on day trips from Fredericton, Saint John, Rothesay, Hampton,Sussex and Moncton and their surrounding areas! It is lovely to see you and make the connections!❤️
And if you have not been able to drop in and follow us on our socials and have requested product, please bear with us as we go through this very busy time! We are trying to get our orders out in a timely manner but our day to day in the Studio and Gallery take up most of our energy and time!
Robert and I have been working hard running the Hope River Studio here! Robert is only one guy and we are both working hard but we also have to find the balance to still make things fun so the business of pottery making is still a joy for us!
😃❤️😃
Thank you to Karen Pyra and Jim, and Margaret Champion and DantheMan for the great evening out at the Dave Gunning Concert at the Trailside! I am glad we take the time to make these moments so special! Dave an awesome show and we love are new record! ❤️
Thanks also to Pam and Roger Gillcash of Poppies Porch for spending time on our Sunday evening after the long workweek!
You chairs and tables compliment our pottery so well in our photo’s we can’t thank you enough! ❤️
Your friendship and collaboration with our business is greatly valued and appreciated!
So our doors are closed for another few days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. We are preparing for the long Labour day weekend and realize a lot of our vacation families are going home!
What a GREAT SUMMER it was!
😃😄😃❤️🥰😃😊🤭😀❤️
And while we are closed, Robert will be spending time in The Studio making pots and working them through the process. I will be catching up on orders to be shipped.
I also hope to get time to decorate some ornaments, tiles and work on my hummingbird tiles, glaze my 10 pots and hopefully sitting at the wheel to throw again!
I also have my sister coming from Ottawa so we hope to play tourist and see some sites on the Island!
So until Robert and I, see you again❤️ Know our little Studio may look quiet on the outside but it is humming away on the inside!
But for tonight in our sleepy little Gallery my door looks pretty with the light glowing through, my desk has its papers where I left them, the record player is quiet.
Robert is downstairs checking his pots for the night and covering them up, my pots lie on boards, my ornaments and tiles, calling to me to be glazed but I tell them not tonight, maybe tomorrow!
The wheels are resting by the window they will be busy by tomorrow!
Phoenix 😴and DraGON 😴are resting 🤫before they start working on Wednesday:) They are a great part of our team. ❤️❤️They work well together just like Robert and I!
So I’ll keep you posted in the days ahead with the product we will have on the long weekend!
And you know …we’ll have a good time then❤️
