Greetings fellow stitchers! We hope everyone had a great summer.

Now that Janay is back at work (yay😊), we have finalized the details of our upcoming classes.

As always, Tuesday afternoons from 2 - 4 pm is set aside for our regular knit/crochet/stitching group. Come join us for an afternoon filled with great company, interesting projects, and maybe even some tasty treats. The cost per month is $25 and entitles you to a 15% discount storewide. In October, the Tuesday afternoon stitchers will have the option of working on existing projects or completing a class project led by Janay (the pattern is the Aviatrix Hat by Justine Turner and is available on Ravelry for $5.00 USD).

Janay will also be offering two knitting classes over the next two months. The first class is a very beginner knitting class and the project is a simple, yet stylish, scarf. The pattern - Wheat - is free from Tin Can Knits. The class will meet on Saturday afternoons (October 8, 15, and 22) from 2:30 - 4:30 pm. The cost is $36 and includes 15% off all supplies. Registration is limited to 6 people.

The second class is a beginner knitting class and the project is a cowl/infinity scarf. The pattern - Oats - is also a free pattern from Tin Can Knits. The class will meet on Saturday afternoons (November 5, 12, and 19) from 2:30 - 4:30 pm. The cost is $36 and includes 15% off all supplies. Registration is limited to 6 people.

Lastly, we have a few spots still available in our Thursday afternoon beginner crochet class starting in October. Classes will run over three weeks (Oct 6, 13, and 20). The cost is $36 and includes 15% off all supplies. Please note that Hannie is shifting the class time from 2-4 pm to 2:30-4:30.

What a month it has been! Our biggest summer sale ever has been a huge success. Just a reminder that the sale is over on Wednesday, August 31st, so there are only four more days left to save 20% on all regular-priced items store-wide. We also have an assortment of clearance items on sale, ranging from 30% to 50% off.

We also want to let you know about our upcoming events. Our regular knitting group meets every Tuesday afternoon from 2-4 pm. Feel free to join us for an afternoon of stitching, refreshments, treats, and good company. The cost per month for the knitting group is $25 and entitles you to a 15% discount storewide.

Hannie will be teaching a beginner's crochet class on Thursday afternoons (2-4 pm) starting in October. Classes will run over three weeks (Oct 6, 13, and 20) and the cost is $36. If you are interested in taking the class, please contact us to reserve a spot. If there is enough interest, Hannie will also consider offering an intermediate crochet class as well.

Lastly, we are planning to offer some project-specific knitting classes sometime in the Fall. Specific details will be forthcoming as soon as Janay is back at work in September. That said, if you have any specific ideas for classes, we would love to hear your suggestions.

Happy Saturday fellow Yarnies😊Hopefully everyone is enjoying the rare bout of sunshine that has graced the Wack today. I, for one, can't wait to go home and do some work in the garden - assuming of course that my backyard doesn't resemble a swamp after all the rain we've had😳

Before I check out for the day, I wanted to highlight a few new items in the store. First up are new hand-made project bags by our very own Janay. Many of our customers have purchased the small, one-project bags she has made over the past year. Now, Janay has created a series of larger bags that are great for crafting projects or everyday use (Michelle and I have already bought a couple). Each roomy bag is made from sturdy cotton canvas and has three interior pockets. The retail price is $60.

The second item of interest are the new Lykke 5" Interchangeable Circular Needle sets. Interchangeable needles are all the rage right now and these Lykke wooden needles are wonderful. I just started using my set. My yarn just glides up and down the needle tip and the join is nice and smooth. But, don't just take my word for it. Come in and pick up a set. The Blush and Driftwood sets come with a case, 12 pairs of needle tips (ranging from 3.50mm to 12.0mm), two cords to make 24" needles, two cords to make 32" needles, one cord to make a 40" needle, two cord connectors, four cord keys, and eight cord stoppers! Each set retails for $165.00.

Let us introduce you to Queensland Collection Kathmandu Fi*****ng. This luscious tweed-ish yarn is 85% Wool, 10% Silk, and 5% Cashmere, and has a generous 425 yards per 100 gram skein! We currently have 10 beautiful colours to choose from. The price per skein is $17.99.

Just an update regarding Local Yarn Store Day on Saturday, April 30th. If you purchase yarn in-store this Saturday only, you are entitled to a free LYS Day Cascade shawl/wrap pattern courtesy of Estelle Yarns, the Canadian distributor for Cascade Yarns.

The pattern calls for three skeins of Cascade 220. We no longer carry the original Cascade 220 but we do the carry the Cascade 220 Superwash (14 colours in stock) and Cascade 220 Superwash Merino (42 colours in stock). For LYS Day this Saturday only (April 30th), both these yarns will be discounted 20% if you purchase 3 or more skeins.
