I forgot how good this feels.

Just passed 8 years as The Local Bloom, and although I’m not so present anymore [without the shop], I’m still here… trying my best to keep TLB alive as best I can while balancing my other career and family life.

TLB will be setup at the Make It Co. Holiday Market tomorrow (Cobourg Lion’s Community Centre 11am-3pm)… I’ll be brining three of these gorgeous potted eucalyptus plants with me + other plant 🪴 cuties & lots of everlasting flower 🌸 beauts. Visit me and all the of the other local makers to show your support on Small Business Saturday! Big news: Our beloved space has officially been scooped up! That means TLB’s last day in the shop will be Saturday, October 19th. I’ll truly miss chatting with you and seeing your lovely faces in person—it’s been an incredible seven years! But don’t worry, you can still fuel your plant obsession and everlasting flower love online, and I’ll keep offering plant shopping and home repotting services (just bear with me as I adjust to the new rhythm of doing TLB part-time).

As this chapter wraps up, an even more exciting one begins! I’m thrilled to join my sisters (duh, right?!). Edwards sister squad, activate!

Here’s to steady paychecks, no more working every Saturday, school field trips, and way less stress (I think lol). Cheers to new adventures! 🌱✨

Hey TLB friends, let’s play two truths and a lie…
1. Hoyas are one of my favourite plant families
2. I’m looking to sublet TLB’s shop space
3. I really (really) love the smell of winter greenery

If you guessed that #3 is the fib, you’re right—I don’t like the smell of pine or cedar one bit. Unfortunately, that means #2 is true (gah, this is tough to share 🙈) The Local Bloom’s brick & mortar shop will be closing by the end of the year. This decision hasn’t been easy, not just because it makes everything feel real, but because, even after seven years of pouring my heart into this business, I’m still working six days a week with little to show for it financially. It’s bittersweet, especially since YOU, my incredible TLB community, have supported and loved what we do every step of the way.

Right now, I’m looking for someone to sublet our amazing space (there’s 2.5 years left on the lease). If you or anyone you know is interested in setting up shop, let’s chat!

In the meantime, we’re clearing out inventory and narrowing our focus to plants and everlasting flowers. And don’t worry—when the shop doors close, it’s not the end of TLB! We’ll still be here online, just in a new way.

As for me? I’ve got some exciting plans in the works, so stay tuned for what’s next! 🌿✨
