Tonight is Charity Knit Night, and, of course, this is also our Charity Knitting Month AND Breast Cancer Awareness Month! Join us from 7 to 8:30 to knit anything for a good cause--Knitted Knockers, hats, mitts, scarves, blankets and more! And don't forget that we've got a prize giveaway for charity knits delivered to us by the end of October!

Vickie’s Jethro in Seis Cabos is the perfect throw-on for this time of year—and the colours are gorgeous! Beautiful work and yarn choice, Vickie!

This is such a fun pattern incorporating both knitting and crochet, so it can put your skills to the test!

Seis Cabos is one of Malabrigo’s non-superwash merino wool yarns. It has six plies and is quite round, giving it great stitch definition!

The Shift Cowl remains a favourite among knitters because of how easy it is to throw on--no fussing with it as with a shawl--and also how beautiful the shifting of colours can be. (This also makes it an addictive knit!) We haven't taught this class in a while, but we're bringing it back to showcase one of our newer yarns (Urth Spiral Grain). If you'd like to expand your skills and make a Shift Cowl for yourself--or as a gift--we have two spots left in this upcoming class!

This was just a small portion of the donations we got a couple years ago for Charity Knitting Month at Yarn It! And today kicks off our 9th annual Charity Knitting Month! In partnership with care4ucreations, we are collecting new, hand-knit or crocheted items to be distributed where they are needed throughout Northumberland County.

And this year, we are giving away prizes! We will weigh your donations and give you a prize entry into one of three great draws (plus a separate draw for Knitted Knockers, as it is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month).

(Our monthly Charity Knit Night has been moved to Oct. 14, 7 to 8:30 p.m. Join us then to work on your charity knit projects!)
