As some of you may know we have been lucky enough to have had a home inside Retro Rewind for the last seven years, but life is ever changing and as of the new year we will be moving to strictly online sales for our refinished furniture pieces. With these changes happening in just a few short weeks. We will be slashing prices on most of our in store merchandise. All refinished furniture has been marked down by 30%, our biggest sale ever! This chest of drawers was a labour of love. I knew from the minute I spotted her on marketplace that I needed to restore her. I’m kicking myself for not taking a before picture of this one. Every surface of this dresser was covered in multiple layers of paint including the insides and outsides of the drawers. There were definitely times during the process where I was ready to throw in the towel, but we persevered. I think the end results were worth the hard work. Do you agree? Part of what I love about refinishing furniture is the ability to take something old and give it a new purpose. This vintage phonograph cabinet is a perfect example of this. We took this Gold Medal Phonograph cabinet and reinvented it into a chic little bar set up, complete with glasses and a decanter.

This buffet was a project we completed last fall. Our client was in need of a new reception counter for her business and chose this buffet from our inventory. We were able to rework the piece to not only look beautiful but be functional work space as well. What do you think of the transformation?

Check out all the beautiful wood grain on this vintage buffet. For this piece we had to remove the damaged veneer from the top surface. Then the whole piece was re-stained in a custom colour and sealed with poly for durability. This piece is available. DM for more details.
