PUBLIC NOTICE

Mission Road Closure – Reita Creek Bridge Repairs

Cold Lake First Nations is advising community members that Mission Road will be closed at the Beaver River intersection from Wednesday, August 26 through Monday, August 31, 2026, while final asphalt repairs are completed on the Reita Creek Bridge.

During this closure, the main access into the Cold Lake First Nations townsite will be unavailable from the Beaver River intersection. Motorists will be required to use the previously established detour routes until the bridge repairs are complete and the roadway is reopened.

Construction Schedule:
August 26: Contractor mobilization and road closure
August 27–28: Removal work and gravel placement
August 29: Anticipated asphalt paving
August 31: Contingency paving date, if required due to weather or unforeseen circumstances

The bridge and surrounding roadway will be subject to traffic restrictions and temporary closures throughout the construction period. If paving is delayed, the roadway will remain accessible with temporary gravel surfacing until paving can be completed.

Important Notice for Motorists:

Please do not attempt to access townsite through the closed section of Mission Road at the Beaver River intersection. Follow all posted signage, traffic control measures, and designated detour routes.

Community members are asked to plan their travel accordingly and allow additional time when travelling to and from the townsite during this period.

Cold Lake First Nations appreciates everyone's patience and cooperation as this important work is completed to improve the safety and condition of the Reita Creek Bridge and surrounding roadway.
