The winner is here! Drumroll please! 🥁🥁🥁

The Fattest Bear of 2026 is... 89 Backpack! His story is not without struggle; he suffered from a bad leg injury in 2007 when he was just a yearling cub, but was able to make a full recovery. He is not an aggressive bear, but he will stand up for himself when needed. Also, his mother, Holly, is a previous Fat Bear winner, so Fattest Bear status is in his DNA 👑 🧬

Backpack now has a long winter of rest ahead of him, and after a hard summer of salmon fishing, he is likely yearning for a solid and supportive mattress to rest his back on. Read up on each one below, and let us know in the comments which firm DreamLife Mattress he should choose!

The Silverstar: an extra firm, flippable, tight top pocket coil with 5 orthopedic zones, posterized latex in the centre third to fight hip dip, and a tencel sleep surface.

The Rendezvous: a premium, hotel luxury pocket coil w/ firm microcoil eurotop, 5 orthopedic zones, finished with silk and wool quilting and a Cooler sleep surface.

Thanks for "bearing" with us on this journey! 🐻

We are so ready to start voting for Fat Bear Week 2026! Voting starts tomorrow.

This year there are five mother bears and cubs that are vying for the distinction of 2026's Fattest Bears. A mother bear must work to feed, nurture, and protect her cubs, while also ensuring she gets enough calories to survive the long hibernation. Cubs face many hazards such as other bears, getting enough calories and a challenging environment.

Did you know? A high quality mattress doesn't sag!

Back pain, hip pain, and shoulder pain can all be symptoms of a sagging mattress. A sag in a mattress means the internal support system has started to break down. This is not a normal occurrence for a good quality mattress with under 9-10 years of use. If your mattress is sagging or is developing body impressions, it is time to consider a replacement! 🛏 😴 💕

It's back to school season! Whether it's grade school, high school, or post secondary, your student needs a good sleep to be able to perform academically. If their mattress is worn out, sagging, or just plain uncomfortable, it will affect their quality of sleep, and their ability to learn. At DreamLife, you can get your student a new, comfortable and supportive mattress to support their learning throughout the year 📚📓📝🎓
