It's been quite some time since I gave you all a "Hi, this is me" post, so here we are.

Hi! This is me!

I'm Lindy, the face behind Aspen Song, which is an umbrella that so many things fit beneath.
I am a yoga teacher, a creatrix, a tender of the land, and a holder of hands and hearts.
In everything I do, my goal is to show up as my authentic self, and encourage you to do the same. To witness this one beautiful life, to take steps forward as I follow in the footsteps of my highest self is a key practice to which I keep returning.

Lately, my favorite pursuits include gently gliding into bodies of water while my boys bravely plunge off the high rocks, and any activities that help me to connect deeply to myself and to the cyclical rhythm of the natural world: embodied dance, cleaning up and beautifying gardens, observational walks through nature.

I have discovered a new passion for caring for roses, and planning garden designs, and am always eyeing up yards and gardens.

Tell me: what is your current favourite plant?

Lavender is a powerful ally in the natural remedy world. It has a calming and grounding effect, and can help with sleep and inflammation.
It is a perennial plant (meaning it doesn't die over winter). It's one of my top two plants to prune, roses being my other favourite.
What a gift it is that the cuttings can be saved and used in dried bouquets and other wild-crafted creations! (Like these incredibly fragrant smoke wands that also contain cedar, sage, and rosemary.)

Tell me: Do you have any lavender plants? Do you do anything crafty with the prunings?

Classes are beginning again, this time on a new day. Join me on Wednesday evenings for a mid-week exhale. Come home to yourself, as you surrender to self acceptance, deep rest, and guidance into the present moment.

Message me to hold your spot.
All bodies are welcome.

Happy Summer Solstice ☀️

It seems fitting that I would get to see the sunrise on this auspicious day. (I'm often up early, but not out of the house early enough.)

May the vibrancy of the summer season bring with it much abundance, growth, and everything needed to align with your highest path.
Season blessings to you all.

Letting go is the death of something that has gotten in your way, pruning away that which is dimming your light.
The shedding, the opening, the cutting away reveals a space occupied by potential.

May you make space for possibility.
🙏🏼
And so it is. And so it shall be.

The importance of ritual.
It doesn't have to be complicated. It can be the intention in the way you stir your morning coffee. The candle, the incense, the seat, the moment of pause before the next action.
It can be words of affirmation, gratitude, or the mantra repeated daily.
The card pull to offer some reflection before sitting in silence.
It could be all of these things, or only one. Or something completely different.
What's important is the deliberate way in which you come back to center. Come back to yourself, and ground into the present moment.

I love you.

This year, let’s make presence our guiding rhythm.

Not striving — arriving.

Not pushing — feeling.

Not perfecting — being.

As we roll out our mats together again, I encourage you to drop comparison and expectation at the door. Here’s to honoring your body, your breath, and your inner wisdom.

It's time. It's time to soften, to slow down, to prioritize your nervous system, and give yourself space to honour the quiet dark of winter. Instead of fast-paced resolutions, perhaps commit to letting go and softening.

Tuesdays at the House of Now in Courtenay.
