The Spool Sewing Studio Learn! Make! Celebrate! The Spool is a place to do all those things, plus get inspired, meet new frie Come and check us out in Downtown Courtenay!

The Spool Sewing studio is all about igniting a passion for sewing through skill building for kids and adults. We carry indie patterns, our favourite tools, fabrics and books. We run after school classes for kids, daytime and evening classes for adults, private lessons, parties and events, and open studio time!

Kids classes start this week! I've kept the classes a little smaller while I asses each group- additional spaces are opening when it feels appropriate- when I have more experienced kids I can teach more at once so each day I'll release any extra spaces that are opening up.
Three spots were opened in the Tuesday 3pm class, as more returning students signed up than I anticipated!

I'm glad I get to ease in- adult classes starting Wednesday, kids starting next week.
For maybe the first time in several years, we actually have a few empty spots for those last minute kiddo registrations! So if you were worried that you didn't catch a spot in time, take a look at the schedule.

We still have some spots open in our after school classes in the fall - both for kids and teens!
The Spool's classes are a blend of skill building, creative exploration and community building. Once kids have the basics down with a couple simple projects, they are encouraged to choose their own projects based on their interest, with guidance, suggestions and support to keep things interesting, appropriately challenging and exciting!
