Replacement Windows • Doors • Siding
Serving HRM Since 1988
In-House Installers • Quality You Can Trust

From the beginning, our mission at Windows Plus has been to revolutionize the window renovation industry through courteous, timely and effective habits…one customer at a time. That begins with showing up on time and it ends with cleaning up as if we’ve never been there. Our focus is on you, our customers, and we are driven by our passion for wanting to do a good job. It’s not just about going into someone’s house and converting draft windows to new ones. It’s about bringing more of the outside in, enhancing the view, creating better airflow and making whatever it is that our customers envision become reality. The fact that 80% of our business is repeat and comes from referrals is a great reflection of our commitment to our clients and our level of service. From our employees to our contractors to our commitment to the community, we’re all about making a positive difference in the lives of others, and that starts with making a positive difference for you, in your home. A beautiful new entrance that combines classic style with modern details!

This black Soho Shaker Slab Door makes a statement, complemented by sidelites featuring sandblasted glass for privacy with clear edging that allows natural light to shine through.

Above, a round transom with clear glass adds architectural interest and even more natural light.

What makes this installation particularly special is the attention to detail. The entire entry was custom fitted to the existing brickwork, creating a beautiful, seamless finish. A satin nickel Gripset completes the look.

It's another great example of how the right door, thoughtful design and experienced installation can make all the difference!

Thinking about updating your front entrance? We'd love to help.

What exactly is Low-E glass - and why does it matter?

Low-E glass, argon gas and Super Spacer® are three components that work together in Gentek's EnergyPlus glass packages to help improve the energy efficiency of your windows.

Low-E Glass: A virtually invisible coating that helps reduce heat transfer while still allowing natural light into your home.

Argon Gas: An insulating gas between the panes of glass that helps slow heat transfer.

Super Spacer®: A structural foam spacer system that separates the glass panes and helps reduce heat transfer around the edges.

Together, these features help keep your home more comfortable through our cold Nova Scotia winters, improve energy efficiency and provide added UV protection compared to standard clear glass units.

It's a great example of how there's much more to a window than what you can see!

MYTH: Replacing windows is only worth it if you’re selling your home.

New windows may add to your home’s appeal when it’s time to sell, but why should the next homeowner get all the benefits?

Replacing older or poorly performing windows can improve energy efficiency, help reduce drafts, make your home more comfortable throughout the seasons, and give both the interior and exterior a fresh new look.

Whether you’re planning to sell in a few years or stay in your home for decades, investing in your windows is really about improving the home you live in right now.

Not sure if your windows are ready for an update? We’re always happy to answer your questions.

Not every window replacement is straightforward - and this one required a little creativity!

The goal with this historic home was to replace the original wooden window while keeping the look and character that had been part of the house for years.

To recreate it, four individual window units were customized and joined together at the factory to create one large window that closely resembles the original design.

It’s a great example of how replacing old windows doesn’t have to mean changing what makes an older home special. Sometimes it’s about finding the right solution to preserve the look while bringing the windows up to date.

And for our team, figuring out those unusual projects is all part of the job.

Have a project that needs a customized solution? Give us a call - we're always up for a challenge.

Happy Labour Day! 🇨🇦

Today we're celebrating the people behind the work - including our own incredible Windows Plus team and the many people who design, manufacture, build and deliver the quality products we install every day.

We're grateful for the skill, craftsmanship and hard work that goes into every project, long before the finished window, door or siding ever makes it onto a home.

A special thank you to our installation crew for the care and pride they bring to homes throughout HRM and surrounding communities. We appreciate everything you do!

Windows Plus will be closed Monday for the Labour Day holiday. We'll be back Tuesday and ready for another busy week.

From all of us at Windows Plus, enjoy a safe and relaxing long weekend!

Just because your windows still open and close doesn’t necessarily mean they’re performing the way they should.

Windows can show signs of wear long before they stop working altogether. Drafts, condensation between the panes, deteriorating seals, damaged frames, or difficulty keeping your home comfortable can all be signs that it may be time to take a closer look.

At Windows Plus, we’ll help you understand your options and determine what makes sense for your home. Because replacing your windows should be about what you need, not simply replacing them because they’re old.

Have questions about your windows? We’re happy to help.
