Some moody blues and corals in the cooler this week ✨🦋🌺

What brings me joy these days? A fridge full of flowers, new hammered vases, and mango sparkling water. Honestly, it’s like the triad of flower studio cheer.

Order flowers anytime for same-day local delivery through our website.

Cozy mornings in the flower studio 🌼

What do you do when you’re in denial about the end of the growing season? You grab a jacket and stand in your walk-in cooler to stare at the buckets of cheerful blooms. Instant dopamine.

Call to preorder your host gift, Thanksgiving table centrepiece, or seasonal arrangement before the long weekend.

Thwarting the frost one chilly night at a time.

Now, I’ve experienced plenty of writer’s block in my day. But there’s no such thing as designer’s block when nature currently looks like this. I mean, come on. Mother Nature’s just showing off right now. ✨

A few of the flower lovelies that went out into the world this week.

In Memoriam. It’s always a privilege to help honour the passing of a loved one. Flowers have helped us express our love and grief throughout history.

In fact, the earliest known use of flowers in burial practices can be traced back to 62,000 years ago.

In Ancient Egypt and Greece, flowers were used in funeral rituals to pay tribute and help guide the deceased to the afterlife.

The Victorian era brought us floriography, or the language of flowers. Different flowers were given to express different sentiments without words.

Contact us to help honour your loved ones with memorial wreaths, casket sprays, and vase arrangements.

Summery pink bouquets meet autumnal centrepieces. Because it’s fall in the morning and summer by the afternoon. September is a beautiful convergence of seasons.

But there’s something singular about the air right now as summer takes its final bow. And I’m here for this crisp encore.

👀 Also, peep those fall table centrepieces for a hint of things to come over the next few weeks. Stay tuned! 🍂

I don’t always sit on the counter of my flower studio, but when I do it’s to hard launch some lovely long-stem roses now chilling in our cooler. 🌹

There’s still plenty of life blooming in our production beds, but I’m thrilled to welcome the classics back in our studio.

Weird fact about our flower studio. It was once an indoor hot tub room. But it was broken when we bought the house (and also inexplicably lit with black lights 🧐).

We gutted it to build a design studio. My favourite renovation.

Okay granted, I don’t have an exceptionally giant head, but these ‘Lavender Perfection’ dahlias are bigger than my face.

The dahlia patch is outrageous right now, just pumping out blooms to round out the summer. And just in time for three custom arrangements.

I love custom orders. A friend’s favourite colour? Wedding flowers for your anniversary? Legolas talking about the sunrise? Better believe I’ll spin up a palette and flower story for that!

One of my strangest flexes is being mistaken for a garden centre employee every single time I visit one.

I think it’s the hat 🤔.

I mean, obviously I chat about plants for a while before I burst their bubble that I don’t actually work there.

Anyway, I’m off to go plant the dozen or so delightful perennials I just impulse bought. And if you ever see me at a greenhouse, just know I’ll chat your ear off about all the cut flowers. But I don’t know where anything is.

Enjoying every second of summer while it’s here!

Well, holy smokes! Congratulations to our two floral giveaway winners Paula Spence and Rena Corbett.

If you ever need a hit of dopamine and local gratitude, just read the comment section from yesterday’s post. I’ve never been more thankful to live where we live in the community that supports us. Thanks to everyone who shared the charm and beauty of our local vistas yesterday.

We’re totally doing more of these in the future!

Bonus feature: Burkes Beach summer solstice sunset, June 2026.
