So I have previously made bears for this incredible family and this time they really challenged me:) They had some clothing for the bears they wanted made in memory of their Grandma but not enough, so they got creative and included some unused crocheted dishcloths that their Grandma had made. I have to admit I was leery but they turned out awesome and definitely unique. Who knew:)

I had the pleasure to make this Memory Bear. I have permission to leave the photo so you can see what is possible to do. He was made from jeans and flannel shirt.Since jeans was an important part of the memory of this loved one it has the two labels on the back as well as the waist band. The ears and the other paw are made from the jean pockets. The head is from a pair of long underwear. I thought he needed a jean cap to finish things off:) He is home with his loved ones to hug and to hold.

Normally as I am making a bear I work around any imperfections in the fabrics, any tears or stains. With this bear it was specifically requested to have the imperfections be a part of the bear as that was a big part of how her dad lived his life, once in his life he didn’t see imperfections. A very endearing trait. The bear was made out a blue jean shirt and Roughriders t-shirt. His back pants pocket was the pocket in the shirt. The ears included the snaps from the front of the shirt. If you take a close peek at the bear you will see the various tears and even the bleached part of the shirt. To him the shirts were perfect. It was a great honour to make this bear in memory of a very special man.

I had the privilege to make two bears with clothing of an incredible young man who left us far too early. They were made from a pair of pants, jogging pants and some t-shirts. Hopefully they will bring great comfort to the family.
