The Dominion Development Society would like to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who came out and supported this year’s Seaside Daze events! It was an amazing festival with so many great activities for people of all ages and abilities! As has been said before . . . Dominion puts the “unity” in community! We are all so proud of our little town.
Thank you to all the organizations/businesses and committees for organizing and hosting the bulk of the events and activities. Seaside Daze couldn’t be the same without all of you and your hard work and commitment to the community.
To those who sponsored any of the events, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your generosity means the world to us.
To the volunteers who dedicate their time, talent and energy to running and helping us with all these events, we thank you! It takes a village!

Sunday, August 2:

12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. FIREFIGHTER’S KIDDIES DAY at the beach. Join us at the Dominion Beach parking lot for a fun-filled day the whole family will love! Enjoy Bingo,, bouncy houses, games of chance, face painting, , and so much more. The Fire Department will once again be serving up hot dogs and pop for just $0.50 each! With the beach just steps away, make a full day of it—bring your towels, sunscreen, and swimsuits and enjoy the sun and sand before or after the festivities. You won’t want to miss it! Sponsored by the Dominion Volunteer Fire Dept Station 24.

- 6:00 p.m. DJ MEL ON THE DECK at the Dominion Community Hawks Club, weather permitting. 19 + event. Sponsored by the Dominion Community Hawks Club.

8:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. FIREWORK SOCIAL at the Dominion Community Hawks Club. Come on down and enjoy some live music from Final Cut at the Hawks Club! Must be 19 years of age or older. Sponsored by the Dominion Community Hawks Club.

Dusk CAPE BRETON’S FAVOURITE FIREWORK DISPLAY Gather the family, lawn chairs and blankets and come watch the spectacular fireworks display. Firefighters will be lighting the fireworks off over beautiful Dominion Beach. Sponsored by the Dominion Volunteer Fire Department Station 24 and Dominion Development Society.

IMPORTANT NOTE RE PARKING: parking will be available at the main beach parking lot. The Hawks Dream Field Society is going to open the gates to to the outfield for people to watch from there. Bring a chair or blanket. (water only permitted on the field). The field lights will be on until just prior to the fireworks and then turned off so you can enjoy the full effect. They will come back on immediately following the fireworks for safety leaving the field. DJ Mel will be playing music beginning at 7 pm and the canteen will be open.
THE DROP-OFF ZONE BY THE CANTEEN WILL BE MONITORED all evening. Those with mobility issues can be dropped off and there will be people there to help you get out to the field. NO PARKING IN THE DROP-OFF ZONE.
And for safety reasons, please do not park along side of Lingan Road or Lower Mitchell Avenue. Emergency vehicles need to be able to get through.

9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. CLOSING SOCIAL at the Dominion Firehall. After the fireworks, join us to celebrate another successful Seaside Daze Festival. 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. WASHER TOSS at the Dominion Community Hawks Club. This event is open to those 19 years of age and older. Registration is at 12:00 p.m. with the toss starting at 12:30 p.m. The cost is $5.00 per person with teams drawn from a hat and all the monies returned in prizes. DJ Mel on deck, weather permitting.

2:00 p.m. LET’S PLAY SOME GOLF at Passchendaele. Shot gun start at 2:00 p.m. sharp. 4-person scramble, $225 per team (1 cart per included) with prize presentations at the Dominion Italian Hall immediately after golf and music by Derek Jerrott and Kevin Kelly from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 pm. 12:30 p.m. IRON MAN/PERSON at the Dominion Legion Branch 78 in Schneiders lounge. A tournament with 2 Person teams (male or female) competing in darts, horseshoes, and washer toss! Limited to 24 teams and cost is $10.00 a person.

1:00 p.m. ANNUAL CHRIS ‘TIFFER’ BURNS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP GOLF TOURNAMENT at the Lingan Golf Club. Four-person scramble with an entrance fee of $600 per team. There will be a shotgun start at 1:00 p.m. sharp. Contact Joe Higgins via email at [email protected] for more information.

1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. DOMINION HERITAGE DAY at the Dominion Heritage School House Museum is pleased to invite residents and visitors to join us for our annual Heritage Day Celebration. Discover the rich history of our community through a tour of the School House Museum, featuring historial displays, photographs, artifacts and memorabilia that showcase Dominon’s unique heritage. A special exhibit will pay tribute to renowned local shoemaker, Angelo Cecchetto, recognizing his contributions to our community and preserving an important part of our local history.

Entertainment provided by the Turnbull Brothers and Mario Colosimo. All sorts activities and attractions, including a bake sale, raffle draw, face painting, hot dogs and sausages for sale, historical tours, educational presentation by Island WISE. Dominion Fire Dept will be on hand with sprinklers. Dress up in your favorite 1800's
costume. Sponsored by Dominion Heritage Committee.

7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. ADULT OUTDOOR GAME NIGHT at the Hawks Dream Field. Come on out and be a kid again! Join us on the field where we will have lots of outdoor games, giant versions of Yahtzee, Snakes and Ladders, Jenga and more. “Granny Pants” ,
“Axe Throwing”, co****le, washer toss and so much more! Bocce
courts will be available to be play on. DJ MEL on hand for awesome toons. Canteen open for lots of treats.
