Exciting announcement:

Ohtisii has been accepted as a retail pop-up (i.e. vendor) for Fashion Arts Toronto Spring/Summer 2026 show and their Fashion and Beauty Boutique.

We will have a micro presence at their marketplace on the margins of their Fashion Week with a 3x3 table.

Our goal? Go. Talk to people, tell people about our vision of the crossroads of language, cultural revitalization, indigenous luxury, and build a burgeoning presence - and maybe develop a pathway into their accessories pathway for their shows in the future.

Years for nature to exist in the wild.

Weeks to transform the hide into leather. Tens of hours more to transform it into a structured, one of a kind piece.

This is a one of one - and it will be one of the softest and best smelling pieces you could hold. It is genuinely a delight to all the senses.

What makes luxury? Is it exclusivity? Unique materials? Craftsmanship?

There are lots of elements - many different to each person. But a through line that OHTISII draws is that which celebrates the heritage of thousands of years of craftsmanship still extant to this day.

This is brain-tan leather. An incredibly labour intensive process that's taken generations upon generations to perfect. It's been a key textile and good that we've relied upon for well over 20,000 years.

And here it is, made with that same skill passed down, in a truly beautiful and unique piece that fuses that generational skill with contemporary design artistry.

I'm incredibly proud of this piece, and those that will follow.

To me this is luxury. Exclusivity - a one of one. Unique materials - brain tan leather. Craftsmanship - a dedication to craft from ALL involved.

The hide was done traditionally by and John Nielsen - my family.

Returning to Ęhtsisadle for 2026!

A reminder - Ęhtsisadle (Eh-tsee-saw-dlay) - means blueberries in Dane-zaa Zaage. I first introduced this style at the beginning of the year, and have updated the style and availability! This bag is large (14" wide apps) with XL coming.

With the Ats'aahnuu collection filling a mini-small-mediuml and playful form, the Ęhtsisadle fills a larger, more secure form.

Designed for capacity and security, you can carry all the blueberries you can pick with no risk of losing them all in a spill! The design has been updated with greater visual balance, higher quality hardware, and refined proportions.

Ats'aahnuu Medium in Ts'aatl Green (Moss green) delivered today for a custom order.

This green really is everything, and it came together so well with the stainless steel hardware, monogrammed tag, and beaded charm.

Fun fact: these photos all say "Azis Kwą" on the bottom left. That's a rough idea of atelier or studio, in which it means "Leather house". I.e. design house for leather goods. So Azis means leather, and kwą means house.

Sourcing is incredibly fun and meaningful. As a micro-business (i.e. just me), I spend a lot of time researching producers of raw materials (leather, hardware, etc).

Having exceptional materials has to be the core of the pieces I make, otherwise the vision of our language on elevated creations doesn't work.

This ethos guides my search for the best - and that's a continuous process, and not a step. Pictured, for example, is a textured photo of leather I ordered from - an Italian tannery. It was my first time ordering from them, or from any tannery directly.

Commercial leather tanning does have environmental impacts, but one can source from those that pursue the highest standards. Mastrotto is carbon neutral, sources it's electricity from 100% renewables, holds ISO 14001 for environmental management, and a Gold rating from the Leather Working Group.

The result is that Mastrotto exceeds not only in quality of leather and ease of working with small businesses, but also exceeds in its sustainability prospects.

This is the leather that I am using going forward, with a few hundred sqft to work through in my first order. Some of you already have pieces made with this - but the quality speaks for itself.
