Tom Baranski Woodworks Offering 20 years of professional experience in woodworking, we are a boutique woodworking studio in Elmsdale, Nova Scotia.

Tom Baranski is a graduate of York University's BFA in Theatre Production. His 20+ year career focused on scenic carpentry and technical direction, but led him to fine woodworking through shops he worked in that also focused on high-end display work and custom architectural pieces. He built sets and stages for most theatre companies in Toronto, and for various concerts and live events across Canad

a. Tom has also built displays and exhibits for Hermes, Joe Fresh, the Royal Ontario Museum, the Art Gallery of Ontario, the Aga Khan Museum, to name a few, and has done custom projects and installations ranging from custom serving trays for restaurants, to large-scale art installations for Toronto's Nuit Blanche, primarily through his former (and favorite) shop/employer, McWood Studios. For the last 10 years, he also taught scenic carpentry and drafting, among other things, in Humber College's Theatre Arts - Production program, until he and his wife, Kelsie, decided to move to her home province and settle in Elmsdale, Nova Scotia. He now uses his skills and knowledge to make beautiful things, out of beautiful wood species, in his beautiful shop, for the beautiful people of Nova Scotia and beyond.

F*ck generative AI! See you in November, and thanks to those who support real, orignal artwork and craftsmanship.

🚫 NO AI-GENERATED ART. 🚫
Just real makers. Real craftsmanship. 💙

As AI-generated images become more common online, it can be difficult to know what's genuinely handmade.

At the Nova Scotia Art & Craft Show, every exhibitor is carefully selected because they create the work they sell.

We do not accept AI-generated artwork or products created using generative AI imagery.

When you shop our show, you can do so with confidence, knowing you're supporting genuine artists, craftspeople, and makers who design and create their own work.

When you meet a maker at our show, you're meeting the person who imagined, designed, and created the work in front of you.

Because handmade still matters. 🩵

Last year, I was introduced to the scarlet lilly beetle. More specifically, their larvae which, when engorged on the plants foliage, look like little, wet turds. I mistook them for dirt on the plant, at first, until these turds started to burst from the unopened blooms of these Gran Paradiso asiatic lillies (I believe, as I didn't plant them, I now just enjoy their beauty on my property). It was a horrific site.

This year I was prepared and WOW! These bring me so much joy every morning, and I hope they brighten your day, too.

What's your favourite flower/plant in your garden? What strange pests have you had to deal with?
