What an evening ‼️ and what a shock/surprise and honour to have my Wondering Perch piece awarded Second Place at the 2026 FASM Juried Art Show! I’m feeling really celebrated ❤️

I stole a few moments with The Felt Store team today to give them an I person peek at my oversized Flay Agaric piece 🍄🌱 Amanda and the team at the Felt Store have been so supportive of my art, this piece is no exception. It was an amazing afternoon surrounded by like minded felt-loving people! So many questions about my process - so happy to share!

I was provided another enormous sack of roving to put to good felty use - so excited to jump into my next lovely once I complete my current obsession 😂

Danielle Arnold Photography was kind enough to capture some in progress and process details of my Fly Agaric mushroom lovely while I was there for my Wandering Perch artist portrait.

So much more to go on this oversized piece - loving every moment of exploration!

I’m beyond grateful (and in a bit of disbelief) that my work has been selected for display in the upcoming FASM 2026 Juried Art Show!

Both Wandering Perch and Mossy Mushroom Forest felt lovelies will be on display in the Holcim Gallery Sept. 16 - Oct. 3.

Who knew I’d need a respirator for my art?! ‼️⚠️I
I suppose anyone that has been in an airborne cloud of distressed wool fibres… breathing in those fibres isn’t the best feeling. The 🍄 gill process is requiring protective wear 🙌

My joy for felting is based in the meditative process. This time, my project has required a focus on structure and foundation. My plans for a suspension mushroom piece required planning around the tension of the wire armature and ultimately how I can work on it in my studio.

Thanks to my husband and some questioning looks from hardware store staff 😂, I find myself with the ability to work on my piece in the state that it will appear when completed. My mushroom is officially airborne. ⬆️🎉

The cabling suspension will allow for both standing and sitting stance for process ❤️ so much better than wrestling this 🍄 sculpture from room to room 🙌

My art isn’t all about wool and softness… this time it’s about structure and suspension first, then the felt fun second…

I often get asked if I felt in 3D, the answer is a resounding YES! I love a fun 3D project. 🧀🥓🫒These felt skewers were created for a woodworking client to help demo their sampling boards long term.

I love a realism challenge! ❤️
