🍂 The feast is over, but the best part is just beginning! 🦃✨
Don't let that turkey carcass go to waste—it’s time for some post-Thanksgiving meal prep magic! Here is how to turn those leftovers into rich broth, cozy soup, and safe treats for your furry friends:
🍲 1. Rich Turkey Bone Broth
Toss your carcass into a large pot or slow cooker with carrots, celery, onion, bay leaves, and water. Simmer on low for 3–4 hours (or up to 10 hours in a slow cooker). Strain out the bones for a nutrient-packed, liquid-gold base for future meals!
🥣 2. Classic Leftover Turkey Soup
Sauté diced onions, carrots, and celery in a pot. Pour in your fresh homemade broth, add your leftover turkey meat, and toss in some egg noodles or rice. Simmer until tender for the ultimate post-holiday comfort food!
🐶 3. Dog-Friendly Holiday Treats
Want to include your pup? Keep it safe! Cooked bones, skin, onions, and heavy spices are a big no-no for dogs. Instead:
Turkey & Pumpkin Bowl: Shred plain, unseasoned white meat (no skin or bones) and mix with 2 tablespoons of 100% pure pumpkin puree over their kibble.
🍦Frozen Pupsicles: Drop tiny pieces of plain turkey into an ice cube tray, cover with water, and freeze for a fun, crunchable treat!
