The kids sometimes say they’ve lost their living room to yarn…I’d say we just found my Happy Place! After being off for a while with a shoulder injury, it’s good to get back and rebuild!

This week some Yarnies visited and shopped (by appointment) at the Fergus Yarn Co show room. It’s great to see them and we can’t wait to see all of you at the Kitchener-Waterloo Knitters' Guild fair in September 12…and bring our Happy Place to you!

Mmmmmmm, practically Sweater Weather my Fibre Friends!

That cool, crisp morning air…sleeping with the windows open - I can pretend it’s autumn already!!! My favourite time of year!

So, in honour of the fall to come, I’ve dyed up my NEWBORO PUMPKINS on 80/20 SW Merino sock (I also have it on 100% SW Merino Worsted). This colourway was made a short while ago when I went on the most fabulous retreat ever - a quaint fishing lodge in autumn, surrounded by loons, herons and nature. There were knitting boat rides, sunset waterfront knit/crochet alongs and so much laughter that only a crochet/knit crowd can have. Anyways, I made this colourway for the Sheepover Retreats in Newboro and have fond memories every time I look at it. Friends made, projects finished, coffees by sunrise in the docks….

I felt like bringing it out for the first signal that autumn is on the horizon - the Kitchener-Waterloo Knitters' Guild Fair - would be apropos. I hope to see you there on September 12….I’m ready for orange!!!!

Happy Friday Fibre Friends!

I’m just sitting back and chilling after a fun day. I met a knitter from Sarnia who decided to road trip for yarn to Fergus - YAYYYYY! (She’s a dog lover so Bear had the best time sniffing and showing off) It’s always a treat to meet new knitty friends from far away places!

Annnnnnd, I did some restocking of yarn in preparation for Kitchener-Waterloo Knitters' Guild Knitter’s Fair on September 12….here’s a little of the BARBARIAN D&D yarn completed today! It’s on 80/20 SW Merino, 100g/400m

It will be there at KW with all the other character classes…along with some treasures and shinies for you to peruse!

Good afternoon Fibre Friends!

As I slowly work my way through this wee summer cold I have, I’m delighted to receive the final photos of a beautiful collaboration done with !

LeFil wanted to do the Aldeburgh Sweater by ….a lovely, delicate look with hints of complexity artfully executed. And of course, LeFil wanted something extra special for this knit - she asked for some glorious cashmere.

Ahhhhh, it was such a joy to dye…it felt like clouds between my fingertips (I even took off my gloves to wash it) it was like shampooing a baby’s hair. Just so soft and pretty. Everyone should experience 100% cashmere once in their life! Anyways, to ensure longevity, LeFil held together the 100% Cashmere fi*****ng with 50/50 Cashmere/Tussah Silk lace. The drape is divine, the luxurious feel is outta this world and LeFil, you did a beautiful job knitting up this pretty pink cloud! Thanks for sharing!

Hello Fibre Friends!

It’s been a while since I’ve done my WEDGEWOOD BLUE….i just did 3 skeins to see how they go, to see if I’m in the mood…it turns out I AM! I guess I’m in a blue-forward, cerulean kinda mood.

They’re on 80/20 SW Merino sock (as a sock they’d be SUPER STRIPEY). Hope to see you next weekend at the Fergus Highland Games!
