A Love Letter to Birchwood πΏ
It's 10pm. My work day is over, activities for the day are complete, the younger kids are tucked in and getting the rest they so desperately need. Lunches for tomorrow, training deadlines, programming deadlines, financial deadlines, business deadlines, fundraising, appointments, family.
I don't have the time I used to have to make Birchwood everything it is but this little business is worth every single late night, back ache and challenge be it logistical or a matter of the heart.
The coffee is brewing and I'm settling in to start working for the night. To write a love letter to Birchwood, is to write a love letter to you. To every connection, collaboration & opportunity. To all of the small businesses that have become my friends. To every heart to heart behind a market table or troubleshooting in the middle of the night, to risks and losses and victories. To watching other people win. To meeting hundreds of kindred souls in this community who put their trust in me and Birchwood. To being privileged enough to exist in this circle of creative strength. I couldn't build this home of mine without a village to put it in.
Thank you for being in this little place of mine and always hanging by my side. I am quiet these days, but I'm not going anywhere.
I am so glad you're here.
