When I chose to wrap the room in this deep, moody brown, pair it with a warm patterned floor, creamy stone and touches of aged gold, each decision felt bold on its own.
But good design isn’t about choosing individual things you love.
It’s about understanding how they’ll all speak to each other when the room is finished.
The warmth of the walls.
The movement in the floor.
The softness of the stone.
The delicate vintage-inspired artwork.
Even that tiny moment of greenery against the dark backdrop.
Together, they create a space that feels collected, warm and completely intentional.
And this is where trusting the design process matters.
There’s always a stage when the room is unfinished, the pieces haven’t connected yet, and it can be tempting to second-guess the decisions.
But as a designer, I’m not designing for that halfway point. I’m designing for this moment, the finished room. Sometimes the choices that feel a little unexpected on paper are the ones that give a home its soul.
Trust the vision.
Trust the layers.
Trust the process.
