Most know I crochet for my own mental health. So most things I give away. Lately my mission is to make wheel chair shawls or lap blankets , for the wolfville nursing home. Each month I find out which residents have a birthday and go around asking , 1. If I can make them something for their birthday 2. Asking if they would like lap blanket or shawl. Last month their was 3 birthdays . This month their is 6. So I came home and picked out 3 of each and will deliver them throughout the month. Seeing the smiles when I present them with a birthday bag and something personal I have made them. Truly does me wonders

Little update on what I have been working on. If you know me , one of the things is ,I love to make people smile. With that said I have been working on something to share smiles and inspiration. Just figuring out the final things . Working on little peices before putting it all together. Stay tuned .

I have created several seat belt covers that cater to the needs of wheelchair users. These covers are designed to be easily slipped over the lap belt and then slid back to cover the buckle. The underlying idea is that if the buckle is out of sight, it will be out of mind. This is particularly important for individuals who may attempt to undo the buckle at any time. These covers serve as a security measure, providing peace of mind for caregivers and loved ones.
IN NO WAY AM I SAYING THESE WILL SOLVE THE ISSUE.
* SUPERVISION is still the key for safety. These are more in line to discourage, or give one time to notice the playing with seat belts. * kinda like a lock cap on a bottle of pills .

I apologize for the noticeable decrease in my posting activity. The recent holidays and birthdays provided an opportunity for me to focus on family and personal life, leading to a temporary break from processing orders. As crafting is an integral part of my mental well-being, I have been devoting my time to creating items for the Wolfville Nursing Home, such as fidget sleeves, fidget lap blankets, and now, seat belt covers for residents who use wheelchairs. I will post some pics soon.
