Here's where it's at. I'm listening to gentle rain on my tin roof, which... sounds better than hurled hail!! I'm continuing to feel oh-so-lucky, and incredibly grateful that somehow my basement is dry! (Over the past five years, its taken every opportunity to flood, and even made up excuses when it's been too long) So to all of you still pumping, shop vac-ing, picking up drenched treasures (and crap you wish you'd never kept) ripping out sewage soaked carpets, and hauling ruined furniture out your basements, I'M SO SORRY!! TRULY. MADLY. DEEPLY.
At the end of every greenhouse season, I find deserving good homes for whatever plants are left. I can't throw out anything I've nurtured all spring. This year, you all showed up again, supporting me. Words feel inadequate, but it means the literal world. So, if it would spark any joy, please come collect the plants that are left. Replace what you've lost. Pick out the flowers you never had time to come get. Adopt a hanging basket for your front porch... Or your neighbour's. I will ask no questions. If I'm around, I will help you load.
At this point, you need to wade thru ankle deep water to get to the greenhouse! Come prepared.
And! All I ask is that you don't take my plastic trays home. Paper boxes will be available at the front counter.
One more 'AND'... I can't respond to questions about what I have left, nor will I hold any plants. I will keep everything watered through the weekend, and update daily until the plant babies are gone!
TAKE GOOD CARE FRIENDS.
