What if your business could open the door to safety for a family? 🗝️ At Alice House, private, secure spaces are where healing begins. They’re where women and children find stability, rebuild confidence, and take their next steps forward.

Through our Adopt-a-Space Program, local businesses can directly support these spaces, whether it’s a room in our Drop-in Centre or a safe housing unit.

By adopting a space, you’re not just making a donation. You’re helping ensure that a space is ready, welcoming, and fully equipped for someone starting over.

There are still spaces available to adopt and we’d love to partner with you.

Together, we can unlock sanctuary - one space at a time. 💙

Throughout my years of working, I've only ever felt psychologically safe at one place.

The Coast Halifax

I didn't have language for it at the time. I just knew something felt different there, like I could actually say what was true without bracing for the consequences. Like my experience mattered to the people around me.

That's rare. It shouldn't be. But it is.

And it's exactly why I do this work.

Here's what happens to team performance when psychological safety actually exists:

People start telling you the truth. Not the polished version. Not the "everything is fine" version. The actual truth about what's blocking them, what's unclear, what they're afraid to bring up in a group setting.

And when leaders can hear that truth without punishing it:

→ Problems get surfaced earlier (before they become expensive)

→ People stop performing productivity and start actually producing

→ Retention improves not because of perks, but because people feel seen

→ Innovation increases because people aren't afraid to be wrong

Psychological safety isn't a soft concept. It's an operational one.

The organizations that build it don't just have happier employees. They have more honest data, faster problem-solving, and cultures that can actually adapt.

This is what trauma-informed organizational work produces. Not a warmer vibe, better outcomes.

Is this something your organization is actively building? Drop a comment, I'd love to hear where you are with it.

You are not lazy.

You are not behind.

You are not failing.

You might just be exhausted. And exhaustion changes how we think, choose, show up, and move through life.

That’s why I created:

✨ From Burnout to Clarity ✨ A guided workbook designed to help you slow down, reconnect, and move forward with intention.

Built around 3 pillars:

🌙 REST
✨ INTENT
🌱 GROWTH

Because healing isn’t linear.

And clarity is something we practice.

You deserve support that feels grounded, structured, and sustainable.

Today is Menstrual Health Day (also known as Menstrual Hygiene Day). It is observed globally on May 28 every year to raise awareness about the importance of menstrual hygiene, destigmatize periods, and advocate for menstrual equity.

The 2026 campaign is a ", the movement focuses on building a world by 2030 where no one is held back because they menstruate.

This Sunday we will be building Dignity bags to send to folx who need support without stigma.

Can I be honest?

A lot of people are exhausted…
but don’t even realize how disconnected they’ve become from themselves. Burnout doesn’t always show up as breaking down.

Sometimes it sounds like:

“I don’t know where to start.”
“I feel stuck.”
“I’m tired but I still keep pushing.”
“I know something has to change.”

That feeling of carrying too much for too long?

I know it well.

And it’s part of why I created my new workbook: From Burnout to Clarity
A guided, self-paced workbook designed to help you slow down, reflect, and move forward in a way that actually feels sustainable.

Inside we walk through 3 core pillars:

🌙 REST — reclaim your energy
✨ INTENT — reconnect with what matters
🌱 GROWTH — build a path forward that feels aligned

42 pages of guided prompts, reflection, and practical support.

No pressure. No perfection.
Just a structured space to come back to yourself.

Because you are not behind.
You may simply be ready to realign.💛

Today was powerful. ✨

Although today was Tia Upshaw day to facilitate, I had the opportunity to fully participate in the experience and I’m leaving feeling deeply inspired.

I met new faces, shared meaningful conversations, and had conversations that reminded me just how important spaces like this are.

And my vision board? Whew. I am SO proud of it.

One thing about me, I believe in dreaming boldly and being honest about where I’m at. At this stage of business, it might look like money is the motive… and truthfully? It is part of the mission right now. Not from greed, but from vision. Because impact takes resources.

Purpose still requires provision. Building something meaningful takes capacity.

I am building a life, a legacy, and a business that creates opportunity, healing, freedom, and sustainability, for me, my family, my community, and the people Intimately U is meant to serve.

So yes… I’m believing bigger.

Believe it. Write it. See it. Speak it. Build it. Have it.

Today reminded me that vision matters. That what we repeatedly see, believe, and work toward eventually begins to meet us.

I left feeling empowered, grounded, and deeply inspired.Tomorrow is my day to facilitate, and I’m genuinely excited to pour into the room.

And as for Intimately U… just wait. There is so much more to come. We’re only getting started. 🤍

Is this you right now?

You wake up already exhausted. You get things done, but you feel nothing. You can't remember the last time you actually felt like yourself.

That's not laziness. That's burnout.

And if you're in Canada right now, you are far from alone.

47% of Canadian workers say they feel burned out, up from 33% in 2023. For women, it hits harder. Two in three Canadian mothers say they are concerned about their mental health, and half say they frequently or always feel burnt out.

At Intimately U, we believe burnout isn't a personal failure, it's a signal. Your body and mind are asking you to come back to yourself.

💬 Tell us in the comments: what's your #1 burnout sign? We'll share our top recovery tips based on what you share.
