And just like that, 5 years has come and gone. Rusty Hinges is officially closed for business. While the team at Rusty Hinges will all be ok, we all have our next chapters in progress, it does feel like the end of an era.
This store wasn't MY dream. It was a wonderful opportunity for me to learn and grow and set some goals of my own, after supporting my family in the setting of and achieving goals of their own. On the last 5 years of owning this store, I have grown, I have learned, and while the business hasn't thrived these last 18 months, we have achieved a lot together. This little Hydrostone community is the best. We've had the best neighbours, customers and have made the best new friends.
Rusty Hinges was the dream and life's work of Saundra MacKenzie. Most of you know and love Saundra, as I do. You know that her name and spirit are synonymous with Rusty Hinges. I loved being her customer and loved the space that this beautiful little shop held, though we all know that Rusty Hinges was born in a little chicken coup just outside Saint John, New Brunswick.
Saundra, thank you for creating such a special place and sharing it with us all!
