Condolences to Michelle’s Family and Friends

A life well lived, a love that lives on ~ Michelle Quast ~ 1963-2026

With heavy hearts and immeasurable love, we announce the passing of Michelle, a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandma (Mamoo), and friend. Though her time with us was cut far too short, she passed peacefully, surrounded by the family she loved so dearly.

Born in Tisdale, Saskatchewan, Michelle settled in Veteran, Alberta, where she welcomed her two daughters. She later moved to Hanna, met the love of her life, Glenn, and together they built their home on the family farm. There, they welcomed their son and created a life centered around family, hard work and the people they loved.

Michelle devoted herself to her family, her work with students, and the many people she welcomed into her life. Graceful, generous, and kind, she had a contagious laugh, a wonderful sense of humour, and a zest for life. She made people feel cared for and valued, always looked for the good in others, and readily stood up for the underdog.

She loved opening her home to others, bringing people together over good food, laughter, and stories. She found happiness in gardening, riding horses, travelling, spending time outdoors, being near the water, and especially in the mountains. Above all, she loved sharing these experiences with her children and grandchildren, creating memories and passing along her sense of adventure.

Michelle will be deeply missed for her warmth and the way she made everyone feel welcome. Her greatest legacy is the love she gave so freely and the countless lives she touched. Michelle was a bright light in this world, and her love will remain with her family and friends always.

Michelle will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Glenn; her children, Erica (Nolan), Alysha (Dustin), and Ryan; and her grandchildren, Emily, Kaycee, and Kav. She also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

She was predeceased by her parents, Eunice and Carl, mother-in-law, Nancy and her sister, Sherry.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 16, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Delia Community Hall in Delia, Alberta.

If desired, donations in memory of Michelle can be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society, https://cancer.ca/, 55 St Clair Avenue West, Suite 300, Toronto, Ontario, M4V 2Y7.

Forever Remembered ~ Robert James Christie "Bob"
June 8, 1951-Sept. 29, 2026

Obituary- Robert (Bob) James Christie was born June 8, 1951. Eldest of nine kids of Bob and Clarice Christie in Three Hills: Nancy, Marilyn, Bill, Cathy, Diane, David, Cindy, and Tom. A tight knit family from then to now.

Bob graduated from Three Hills High School in 1969 and learned how to work with his dad and uncles at Christie Brothers Pork Ltd for a couple of years. In 1970, Bob hired on with Canadian Utilities, which became Alberta Power Limited later that year. That began a 37 year career with the same office, which became Atco Electric by the time he retired in 2007. When the crew was working out of Consort, Bob met Janice in 1971.”Best thing that happened.”

The couple married in July of 1972. Janice looked after Bob for over 50 years. Bob Jr. (Stacy) was born in 1974, Mike in 1976, and Dannielle in 1978. They are living proof that it’s hard to kill a kid. All these kids turned out to be reasonable adults and their children have been the light of his life (Ella, Robert, Gabbi, Maicee, and puppy Kato). In 1985, Bob and Janice purchased a cottage at Weyakwin Lake in northern Saskatchewan. It has been their summer escape since then. The cottage has been an ongoing project since purchased. Their kids grew up there and have made lifelong friends. They all like the lake life! In 1991, Bob and Janice moved to Hanna - it’s been home ever since. The couple have made a few great friends over 35 years, all appreciated. In between the family spent time with Bob’s family in the Three Hills area and Janice’s family in the Consort area.

The last few years of Bob’s life haven’t been the easiest. He developed lung issues and has been tied to an oxygenator for a long time, stressing Janice out since he was housebound. As much as he stressed her out, he greatly appreciated her loving care.

A Celebration Gathering for Bob will be held at the Hanna Legion on Saturday, October 24, 2026, 2:00 p.m.

If desired, and in lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bob can be made to either:
- Hanna Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 25, Box 1407, Hanna, AB T0J 1P0.
- Hanna Elks # 51, Box 117, Hanna, Alberta, T0J 1P0.
