🎃 Humbug on Halloween? Not quite… 🕯️
We’re not saying we hate Halloween….well not really. We’re just saying the 12-foot skeleton on the front lawn has been staring at us for three weeks and we’d like it to stop. 💀
If you want spooky season without your living room looking like a dollar-store clearance aisle, here’s our design team’s survival guide:
🖤 Go moody, not costume-y. Charcoal throws and oxblood pillows say “mysterious.” Fake cobwebs say “we gave up on dusting.”
🎃 Pick sophisticated pumpkins. White, sage, dusty blue heirlooms. Basically pumpkins that went to finishing school.
🕯️ Dim the lights. Black tapers and lanterns do all the spooky work. Bonus: everyone looks better in candlelight.
🌾 Raid the garden. Dried hydrangeas and bare branches look intentional, cost almost nothing, and won’t scream at guests when they walk by.
👻 Ghosts optional. If you must have one, keep it to a single, tasteful ghost. One ghost is decor. Twelve ghosts is a haunting.
The rule? Edit, don’t add. Your home should feel enchanting, not like it’s being held hostage by inflatables. 😉
