Can't believe it's September! We appreciate everyone's patience this month as we took a few Tuesday's off to accommodate holidays. But we are back to our regular schedule this week!

If you're looking for flowers for the long weekend let us know!

Also, since next week is back to school, we would really appreciate pre-ordering for mid-week pickups so we can make sure to give ourselves enough time as we navigate back to school for our kiddos.

Dahlias 🤩! They are such perfect flowers.....except sometimes not.

Are you noticing some weird things happening to your dahlias this summer? When Dahlias are stressed they can do funny things. Too much heat and smoke and they change color and shape. Their recessive color genes will come through, so our Isabels are a real dusty almost pink right now - which I'm actually loving - but lots are blowing their centers really early, and some are just so small and mis-shappen.

If you're noticing this too and wondering what's going on, just have some patience. This is pretty trypical for Kelowna's first flush of Dahlias, and this year has been especially bad. They generally start blooming during a heat wave and then comes the smoke. Just cut the plants deeply and give them a change to bush out and send out a good second flush. Keep watering and feeding them, once the heat and smoke move on, the plants will be big and happy and push out a bunch of blooms! This is why September Dahlias are the best Dahlias!

Not to worry though, we have plenty plants that are blooming just beautifully for all our orders through August 😉

Lissianthus Bunches and Dahlia Bouquets available all week!

Thankfully the flowers have continued to do their thing despite these less than ideal growing conditions. Once these ashe gets blown off, you'd hardly know they've been growing in smoke 😅.

Bring some sunshine inside today, it's the only way you'll find it 😭

We've been growing Cosmos for like 7, 8 years? These are our biggest plants ever, I can hardly even reach the tops to see the flowers 😅. Growing flowers is like that, every year it's a bit different even though we can plant the same crop in the same bed and do all the same things. These smokey skies can make it tricky too, with the hight heat, but low light levels, the plants get stressed and don't produce as they should, our Dahlias are doing all sorts of strange things! Even still, there always seems to be enough, and I'm looking forward to these Cosmos bushed hitting their stride in the next few weeks!

Lissianthus season is here! If Romance was a flower...these would be it! So ruffly with a color pallet not found very often in summer flowers, and buds continue to open which means they have a great vase life!
