The part of painting that most people never see... but it's the reason a paint job lasts.
When people think about painting, they picture the final coat of colour. What they don't see are the hours spent before a brush or roller ever touches the wall.
Prep work is one of the most important parts of any professional paint job. It means filling nail holes and imperfections, repairing cracks, sanding rough areas, caulking gaps, cleaning surfaces, protecting floors, windows, and trim, and making sure every surface is ready to properly accept paint.
A room that may only take a few hours to paint can easily require an entire day—or more—of preparation, depending on its condition. Skipping these steps might save time upfront, but it often leads to visible flaws, peeling paint, uneven finishes, and a shorter lifespan.
At Babes N Brushes, we believe the difference between an average paint job and an exceptional one is in the preparation. We take the time to do it right because quality isn't rushed. Every smooth finish starts long before the first coat of paint goes on.
Great paint jobs are built, not just painted. ✨
