Three things I love: coffee, art, and Mimikyu 🖤

Coffee because I love the sound of the word, the smell, and the taste. The caffeine does absolutely nothing for me, but honestly, I’m here for the comfort 😌

Art because apparently my brain has too many tabs open and sometimes they need somewhere to go.

And Mimikyu because underneath that little disguise is a Pokemon with a soft heart who just wants to be loved 🥹 The fact that it tries to look like Pikachu to make itself more approachable? Yeah. I get it 🖤

So naturally, I had to paint a tiny Mimikyu enjoying a tiny cup of coffee!

I’ve been playing around with watercolor and working on finding my style. A little outside the line, a little imperfect, and a little colour doing its very own thing I guess. I’m learning to let go of trying to make everything perfect 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hiiii 🖤
It’s been a while! I’m still here, I promise 😬

Violet has officially finished her rehab, which is a HUGE win for us, but between her surgery, her care, the multiple long walks a day, work, markets almost every weekend, and everything else, I completely burnt myself out.

I have a bad habit of giving 135% to everything I get invested in and forgetting that resting is (apparently) also important 😁 So I’ve been taking some much needed time to slow down, recover, and put myself first before I burn out once more..

Now that fall is here (my favourite season of alllll 😍), I’m slowly finding my way back to being myself again which means that I’m finding my way back to art 😌🖤

So here I am! I’ve started playing around with watercolours, something I’ve always wanted to try. I’m still learning and trying to figure it out but I absolutely love it, so if you have any tips, tricks, or ideas for things I should try, send them my way! 🖤

I’m also currently obsessed with Pokemon because Pokopia has completely taken over my life 😂 I feel like I’m 5 all over again!!

Anywaaaayyy…!! I’ll slowly be sharing more as I get back into it, but I do appreciate all of you for still being here ☺️🖤

A LITTLE CHANGE IS HAPPENING AROUND HERE ✨

The Violet Lemon started with one goal: helping my sweet girl Violet get the care she needs.

After everything she’s been through, including major surgeries for 3 of her 4 legs, she still has ongoing physio, rehab, medications, vet appointments and hopefully no more surgeries for that fourth leg..!!

The Violet Lemon is still very much for her.
But I also realized that I want to create differently.

I started with dolls, then added clothes, scrunchies and bandanas, and I really loved making them. But I was also starting to think too much about what would sell and what I could make over and over again, and less about the art itself.

I don’t want creating to feel like that.

So from now on, I’m giving myself a lot more freedom.

Sculptures, drawings, paintings, dolls, clay, fabric, 3D printing, mixed media… whatever I feel like making at the moment.

If I get obsessed with an idea and can’t get it out of my head, I’ll just make it, no matter how weird it can be!! 😌

My dolls, their clothes, scrunchies and bandanas aren’t disappearing, they will still be there if you want to purchase them. But I’m no longer limiting myself to making things that can be done over and over again the same way (ish).

I want to make unique pieces, only once, slowly, without the pressure of knowing whether they’ll sell or not. Just out of passion!!

I’m also retiring the website and moving everything to Instagram and Facebook to save on monthly costs. I’ll still handle payments, invoices, taxes and shipping the same kind of way, but orders will now happen through direct messages.

I now have all the details you need in my new Highlights ✨

I’m really excited to see where this takes me and I’m hoping you’ll follow along and get excited with me through this crazy ride 🖤

I’ve been a little absent from social media these past few weeks but my head is still very much here, constantly dreaming up new ideas while we take care of our sweet girl 🖤 (and boy, cause he needs just as much love!!)

In between cuddles, I’ve been slowly working on some new little things that are a bit different, but feel a little more me ☺️

I’m very excited to show you what I’ve been working on, but it’s definitely still a work in progress and very much in the trial and error phase. So get excited… but maybe not too much.. I’m a bit of a perfectionist 😬

In the meantime, enjoy Violet’s gorgeous smile 😬🖤

🖤 Violet update 🖤

We still made the trip to Ottawa today, even though she was already feeling much better this morning.

The surgeon said she’s doing better than expected! Her rehab is going really well, and everything looked and felt great. We came home with a few extra pain meds to keep her comfortable while she heals.

She’s now back on the couch with us, where she belongs 🖤 (Yes, we carried her up there 😁)

Thank you all for your kind messages yesterday. They meant a lot🖤

🖤 A little update on Violet 🖤

She had been recovering so well after surgery, but the last couple of days she’s started limping more and isn’t putting much weight on her leg anymore.

Tomorrow we’re heading back to Ottawa for a recheck and new X-rays. Fingers crossed that it’s nothing serious and we can get our girl back on track 🖤

Sometimes the strongest souls are the quietest ones 🖤

Violet has been through more than any dog should, and on Tuesday she’ll face another major surgery 😔 Every procedure gives us hope that she’ll have less pain and more happy days ahead…✨

She’s resting today, soaking up all the love, and we’ll be right beside her every step of the way.

Wish our little lemon luck 🖤
