The ladies are all wrapped up for winter with one more oxalic acid dribble to protect them from the dreaded varroa mite. Numbers look superb in one hive and not so swell in the other so we will have to see what Spring brings. Either way, two hives have produced ample enough honey for us all and for that we are so grateful to the hardworking bees! 🙏🏻🐝 🍯

And just like that, the last of our 2023 honey has sold in record time! We want to thank each and every one of you that supported our little fundraising campaign this summer/fall to help offset the cost of our sons travel hockey 🥅 We were able to raise enough to cover his entire seasons travel fees and we couldn’t be more grateful 🫶🏻 THANK YOU ALL to our local customers, the new and repeat customers, as well as to those in Northwestern Ontario, and a special THANK YOU to my wonderful sister for hand-delivering those Northern orders and for our lovely mommas for sorting out the orders and holding them for pick-up! It truly takes a village! 🍯 We hope you enjoy! 🐝 Stay tuned to see what else we have to offer throughout the winter!

We now have farm fresh eggs, $4 a dozen! If you see the sign up at the end of the driveway, the cooler is stocked! We can also arrange to have some added in with your honey delivery (minimum 2 jar order for delivery). DM for address for porch pick-up or delivery! 🥚🍯

For this years hockey season my sons team decided to do some individual fundraising, so we’re offering 500 gram jars of honey with a honey dipper for $15 to help offset his 2023/2024 travel fees.

🍯 First taste test of honey for 2023 and it is AMAZING. Some frames are a little high in moisture according to the refractometer results, so will put them under a dehumidifier “tent” and retest tomorrow before extracting! 🐝

Well we couldn’t have asked for an easier first swarm 🤣 I was just bragging to myself that I caught my bees before they swarmed by adding more boxes and crushing swarm cells, looked up when I was closing the last hive up and saw this. I had added some empty frames to each hive a few weeks ago when I was making a new split, but it wasn’t enough. At least it was simple to snip the branch and place it in a new hive, but I didn’t realize how easily the bees would “drip” off the branch so next time I would 10/10 recommend bringing the box to the bees and not the other way around even though they were only about 60’ from the bee yard. Bees gonna be bees 🤷🏼‍♀️🐝

🐝 We are so grateful to all who placed honey orders for the 2022-2023 season! We jarred nearly 80 lbs of honey and we sold out of ALL but a couple jars that have crystallized, so if you’re interested in honey that still tastes AMAZING and has all the same great qualities as liquid honey just a little easier to spread on toast; reach out to us!
