Wow. What an amazing story written about our family business.
Thank you Stan Ashbee and My Lethbridge Now for capturing the journey of Smith’s Custom Audio Video — from Herman Smith taking battery radios out to farmers in the 1940s, through TVs, stereos, microwaves, camcorders, car audio battles in the parking lot, and now custom home theatres, high-end audio, and The Art Room.
We’re one of the oldest, if not the oldest, continuously family-owned and operated electronics businesses in all of Canada. Here we are in 2026, still going strong after more than 80 years. That only happens because of the people of southern Alberta and the surrounding area who have trusted us with their homes and their music for generations.
Gerard, Debra and I are grateful every single day. Thank you for letting us be part of your lives.
If you’re in Lethbridge, come say hello. The door’s always open.
