When your husband recognizes you’ve hit a level of stress and your whole team at work says you need a break. And you melt because you are so grateful for them.

So this afternoon I will be watching boats pass along the river drinking coffee, and knitting, or crocheting, because right now I can’t decide, while I try to forget about nightmares.

As everyone is probably aware the de minimus rule ends on Friday Aug 29th. What does that mean, it means that no matter what the value of your order is, (going to the U.S.) it is now subject to tariffs and import fees.

But what about the yarn?

Yarn made in Canada is USMCA compliant, so for example all Tangled Poets products should not be tariffed. We have completed all the appropriate Certificates of Origin, and have acquired the Certificate of Origin for our yarn bases as they are USMCA compliant as well.

Yarns made in other countries, most of the other yarns we carry may be subject to an approx 10% tariff (for example Italy)

We have been working long hours, and extra shifts to get as many US orders out to make sure that they cross the border prior to Friday. Those that have not shipped yet. We will resume shipping them on Tuesday to ensure our paperwork is working as it should be, so that you are not subject to tariffs you should not be, and have the best experience with this new situation as we can provide.

Please also understand, we are working with the information that we have at this current time, and that that information could change on a dime. We will continue to update you and keep you in the loop as new information is made available to us.

Other important information you need to know!

1) We have unfortunately made the decision to discontinue our mystery bags, as the the tariff nightmare those would ensue is not worth it for our customers. We apologize, as we know these seem to be a big fan favourite.

2) Supply chains are being affected, so some things, although we are doing everything we can to avoid delays. We are doing everything we can to pivot (I never thought I would type that word again, but here we are)

3) We will continue to support both our Canadian and US customers/friends in the best way we can through this upside down event. We appreciate each and everyone of you.

In closing, we made it through the first administration and being detained at the border, we will get through this one. We adapt, we learn, and we will do whatever it takes to do the best we can for those of you who've made it all possible. I appreciate you more than you know.
