Flora Filter or aquaponic biofiltration

The Flora Filter uses houseplants to clean the nitrates out of water. Water is pumped up into a trough filled with a special media where niter bacteria breaks the ammonia from fish waste down into nitrites and nitrates which are not as toxic as ammonia. The plants then take up these nutrients (nitrites and nitrates) cleaning the water and providing you wit

h beautiful greenery. The plants do not need to be watered or fertilized, and the fish water needs to be changed less often.
