🌹🌹🌹WE’RE HIRING: PART-TIME FLORIST & SHOP MANAGER🌹🌹🌹

La Rose Flowers is looking for a creative, reliable and highly organized individual to join our team.

Position: Part-Time Florist & Shop Manager
Hours: 21–35 hours per week
Locations: Komoka and London, Ontario

Responsibilities include:

• Designing fresh floral arrangements
• Managing daily shop operations
• Opening and closing the store
• Assisting customers and bridal clients
• Responding to phone, email and online inquiries
• Supporting wedding and event preparation
• Maintaining a clean, organized and beautiful shop
• Assisting with social media content
• Coordinating daily priorities and staff when needed

Requirements: (MUST)

• A minimum of 1 year of professional floral design experience
• Strong customer-service and communication skills
• Dependable, punctual and highly organized
• Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Available Fridays and Saturdays, especially during wedding season
• Reliable transportation and ability to work at either location
• Comfortable lifting floral buckets, supplies and event décor
• Availability during Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and the May–October wedding season

It’s not all pretty flowers…

You think owning a flower and dress shop means glamorous days, effortless success and millions rolling in?

Reality: I spend most of my days helping customers, brides, bridesmaids and mothers of the bride through important decisions, last-minute worries and all the emotions and anxiety that can come with weddings, while managing my own anxiety, perimenopausal hormones and life as a mom of 3.

I’m always on the phone, replying to emails, blocking scam calls, solving technical problems, making difficult decisions and dealing with 17 things at once.

Somewhere in between, I’m hauling buckets and vases, lifting boxes over my head, drawing designs, ordering supplies 5 months before Christmas, steaming dresses and driving my Toyota Corolla around the city with a trunk full of flowers. 😂

My journey hasn’t been as effortless as social media can make success look. I’ve learned as I go, made mistakes, paid for some of them and built everything step by step, day by day, one customer at a time.

Some days are beautiful. Some days are overwhelming. Most days are both.

Maybe one day someone will take over and become my boss. I promise I’ll be a good employee. 😉

After 5 years of designing wedding florals and working behind the scenes at many venues, these are the 5 things I believe couples should look for before booking:

1. Beautiful natural light
It makes an enormous difference to your ceremony, flowers and photography.
2. A strong rain plan
Your indoor option should feel just as beautiful as your original outdoor plan.
3. Character of its own
A venue with beautiful architecture and natural surroundings already gives your wedding a strong foundation.
4. Easy access for setup
Your vendors need enough time and practical access to create everything properly without rushing.
5. A comfortable guest flow
Consider how your guests will move between the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception.

Elsie Perrin Williams Estate The Elsie Estate is one of my favourite wedding venues in London. The historic details, large windows, beautiful grounds and intimate atmosphere make it a wonderful setting for florals and a wedding that feels personal.
