Buying a house with a fireplace or wood stove? Ask for a WETT inspection before you waive your conditions.

Sellers aren't required to prove that a wood burning fireplace is up to code, and plenty of buyers find out after closing that theirs can't be insured.

A WETT inspection tells you whether that fireplace is compliant. More insurance companies are requiring one before they'll cover the home, so you want it done while your conditions are still in place.

It's a small step that saves you from a very expensive surprise.

We provide certified WETT inspections right here at Safe Home. If you need an inspection before you move into your next home, reach out to Safe Home Fireplace and we'll take care of it.

The Barbara Jean Outdoor Linear Fireplace. Canadian made, available in three sizes. Shown here is the 48 inch model built around a 48 inch gas burner.
Also available as a see through unit for multiple viewing angles.

An outdoor fireplace like this transforms the atmosphere. At night the flame casts ambient light and becomes a real focal point for the space.

Most people never take a close look at their fireplace again after the day it gets installed.

And years of burning add up quietly. Dust builds up in the burner, and then one cold morning it doesn't light the way it should.

That's why our fireplace service side exists, to keep yours running and looking like it did the first night you lit it.

We handle gas fireplace tune ups and repairs, chimney sweeps for wood burners and WETT inspections, and we'll clean that hazy glass properly while we're at it.

We've been selling, installing and servicing fireplaces in this area since 2009, so the people working on yours are certified technicians who know these units inside and out.

Whatever your fireplace needs, reach out and let us take a look.

The Pacific Energy Alderlea T5. A Canadian made wood stove with a classic cast iron look. Available in multiple sizes depending on your heating needs.

Swing open cooktop lets you heat food or cook directly on the stove.
North to south loading is a safer way to load wood, preventing logs from rolling forward when the door is open.

The listing showed off a beautiful wood burning fireplace, and after closing the new owners found out it couldn't be insured.

That's exactly what a WETT inspection prevents. WETT stands for Wood Energy Technology Transfer, and it's a certified inspection that confirms whether your wood burning fireplace, wood stove or insert is up to code.

Selling your house? Getting inspected before you list means you know where you stand before buyers and their agents start asking.

When you're buying a home with a wood burning appliance, your insurance company will want proof it's compliant before they cover the house. And staying put doesn't let you skip it either, because insurance companies often ask for one when your policy renews.

Our technicians at Safe Home are certified for WETT inspections across Sarnia and the surrounding area. If you need one or you're not sure, call Safe Home today and we'll walk you through it.

A gas fireplace insert turns the fireplace you already have into a true heat source.

Open fireplaces were built for the beauty and atmosphere of a real fire. An insert adds real heat to that. It slides right in, we vent it through your existing chimney, run a gas line to it, and your fireplace starts heating the room.

It keeps your home warm when the power goes out, which is what keeps your pipes from freezing in the middle of winter.

Gas insert installation is one of the most popular services we provide at Safe Home. We have multiple insert models burning in our showroom, so you can come in and see what yours could look like.

Wondering if your fireplace is suitable? Call us or stop by and we'll take a look.
