A reminder that the best lighting is still natural light. ✨

Mother’s Day can mean a lot of different things.
For some, it’s full of love, noise, and the usual chaos of little hands…
and for others, it might feel a bit quieter, or a little heavier.

Today I’m thinking of all the women who nurture in ways that aren’t always seen —
the ones who show up with care, patience, and love in so many different forms 🤍

My mama bear will always be my role model — in the way she loves, gives, and always holds our family first.

To my mother-in-law, who loves me like her own 🤍
To my littles’ aunts who have love them like their own — you mean so much to us.

Thinking of you and wishing you a day that feels gentle, whatever it looks like for you 🤍

The secret’s out! Had the pleasure to work with , for the project this past year! And the episode is finally airing tonight @ 8PM on HGTV or streaming on CityTV+ through Amazon prime!

It was a great experience to share my love of design and to help people see the full potential of their spaces! 🤍

The difference between a room that feels styled and one that feels calm is usually cohesion.

Nothing feels random. Everything connects.

I shared a few thoughts about this on the blog today. 🔗in bio

Most people think design starts with furniture. It doesn’t.

It usually starts with the materials.

One fabric, finish, or stone selection can end up setting the tone for the entire room.

Designer tip: never look at materials individually — always look at them together.

Ever notice how some rooms just feel calm the moment you walk in?

A lot of the time it comes down to balance.

Shelving like this might look effortless, but every piece is placed with intention — thinking about scale, spacing, and a bit of contrast.

When those things are right, the whole room just feels more settled.

That’s usually the difference between a space that feels styled and one that just feels right.

It’s also something we work through during my design consultations.

Most rooms that don’t feel quite right aren’t missing more furniture.

They’re missing a few quiet design decisions.

The rooms that feel effortless usually have three things working together:

• the right scale for the space
• undertones that actually work together
• restraint in what’s added

When those things are right, everything else feels calm and intentional.

That’s why elevated design rarely comes from buying more — it comes from choosing well.

Many of the homeowners I work with already have beautiful pieces.
They just need help seeing how everything should work together.

Save this for the next time you’re making design decisions in your home.

Before any renovation begins, I review three things:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• The floor plan — where movement feels natural (or doesn’t)
• The sightlines — what you see first when you enter a space
• The daily friction points — where life feels inconvenient
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Most people think design starts with finishes.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It doesn’t.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It starts with understanding how the home needs to function long before a single tile is selected.

Thoughtfully designed for everyday living means solving problems you didn’t even realize were there! 💫

Tile and grout are never separate decisions.

One sets direction — scale, pattern, movement.
The other subtly shifts the feeling.

A grout that’s too warm can change the undertone.
Too much contrast can make a space feel busy.
Too much blending can flatten it.

This is why material selections are always tested together.

In renovations and new builds, it’s not just about choosing beautiful finishes.
It’s about understanding how each layer affects the next.

Renovation mistakes rarely come from bad taste.

They usually come from decisions made in the wrong order.

There’s a specific sequence I walk my clients through that protects their budget and prevents costly changes later.

If you’re renovating this year, it’s worth understanding.

Smart design is strategic. 💫
