Someday my kids won’t be 7 & 9.
They won’t beg to stay up for s’mores.
They won’t run around the campsite with their cousins.
They won’t think cliff jumping & fishing with mom and dad is the greatest thing ever.
I think motherhood is partly realizing that the moments you’re living through right now are the ones you’ll desperately wish you could go back to someday.
Let them get dirty.
Let them stay up too late.
Make the s’mores (& have one yourself!)
Put your phone away and say yes to the adventure.
I’m not saying it has to involve going off grid for 4 days straight with the water snakes (yes, I almost abandoned my family in the woods) and the black bears.. but what I am saying: is take the damn trip!
Let’s talk core summer memories.. What’s your fav childhood memory? What’s something you want to make more time for with your kids during this last little bit of summer? What’s on your summer bucket list? Lean into that and start creating memories and experiences with your kiddos! I promise you’ll never regret it.
