FINALLY! My SHED is OPEN!!

After a couple of stressful weeks with my husband’s surgery etc I’m back and seeing some beauty blooms all over the fields.
I’m putting out jars and bouquets all weekend so please visit and take some joy🌸 home with you!

Recovery is not always as you’d like.
2 steps forward and then 1 back..

Our guy is waiting for his body to kick into high healing mode… right now a week out of surgery he is only baby steps in the right direction and it’s so very frustrating for him and an emotional roller coaster for us all. Especially for him. He does not do lying around very well.

He is getting the best care at OTMH and we are all taking turns being his advocate and care givers. But the process is a slow one and we need everyone’s positive thoughts heading his direction. 🙏🙏🙏

Thank you for all the well wishes and volunteer help at our flower farm!! Grass cutting, watering, harvesting….all the things.

It truly does take a village, and we couldn’t be more grateful for ours. 🩷

Bedside sitting is hard.

We help staff, we provide unlimited ice chips, we massage the limbs, we change cold cloths for the forehead and we have become excellent colourers…. But what we really want is our guy to smile and laugh at our jokes.. but not yet

Each day brings him closer to recovery so we keep doing what we’re doing and know that it’s just a matter of time.

It’s been a journey thru the Canadian health care system this past week…and I can’t say enough good things about ALL of it. ❤️

Starting with an ultrasound in Meaford hospital for something else, then the technician there offering to do an ultrasound on his abdomen as she stated” it’s a new protocol to screen for aneurysms in older men, as it’s very common… so we are starting to do that now”

Well ..some Angel was looking over Andrew that day bc the technician DID see something and she called his doctor in Oakville right away.
Who called us late last Tuesday to say
Andrew has an abdominal aortic aneurysm and he’s calling the vascular surgeon immediately.

After speaking to the surgeon he said to get to either the hospital in Oakville or Barrie immediately…ok now we know this is serious.

Wednesday pm… admitted to Oakville Hospital after a CT scan showed the aneurysm to be
9 cm wide….doctors repair them at 5…

This was large and very serious… a rupture would mean certain death

Since his admission to this amazing hospital.. his care has been nothing short of exemplary!
Thank you to Dr Lo, and his team,all the nurses, and staff for their attentive and exceptional care both before during and after his risky surgery.

Lounging around as a family was stressful but also so good for us. We are rarely all together and this was a time for playing games, eating all manner of candies( Aussie candies are top notch. lol) for laughing and crying. A lot of crying and “ what ifs”

But he made it thru surgery exactly as his surgeon wanted it to go… and is recovering faster than expected. He’s a tuff guy and we knew he would bounce back … now it’s baby steps.. but they are steps nonetheless.

Thank you for all the messages and virtual hugs. There truly is an amazing village of loving people around us and we couldn’t be more grateful. ❤️

we are relived to share the news that our beloved Andrew has made it through his surgery and is now recovering in the ICU.

it was a long, agonizing day waiting to hear he had made it and getting to see him in the ICU. it was difficult to see how much pain he is in but he is strong and will get better. we are very grateful for his support team at the hospital.

please keep sending healing thoughts to him as he navigates the next few weeks.

thank you so much to this beautiful community for the support, kind words and help with the farm. it has been overwhelming. share more updates soon 🩷

When you’re asked to design flowers for a celebration of life… you put your best efforts into creating something that the family can look at and feel that I totally understood their requests.

Bright & Colourful were the instructions ✔️✔️

While we await surgery in Oakville tomorrow, I feel content that what I could do for them was just what they wanted. One small thing that made their day less stressful.

Sometimes it doesn’t take much to feel you’re doing what you’re meant to do. ❤️

OPEN and filled with lovely colourful
SPRING-in-a-JAR!🌺🌸🌼

I also have ALLIUMS by the stem that are long lasting ( just starting to open)

And only 1 bouquet of the SWEETEST smelling creamy yellow STOCK that are divine!

It’s been a slow start over here and with a couple of mishaps( all my fault) my blooms are taking their time… but they are coming!!
