As we roll into 2026 we are proud to announce that last night on New Year's Eve we finally completed whip #500!!!

This is an immense milestone for us to have been able to produce 500 pieces of sonic art in just over 3 years, and we couldn't have done it without all of you!

This stunning, first of its kind, 5ft performance hybrid is made entirely from 275 cord and is an homage to the very first whip we ever made back in May, 2022.

We will be making a separate post showing whips #1 and #500 side by side, but in the meantime we wanted to celebrate this milestone with the X1 Whips family.

We wish you all the best for 2026, and may this year be filled with love and new adventures!

Performance Hybrid Handle Blanks
Hello Everyone!

(Long read, please bear with me!)

As some of you know, one of my biggest missions both personally and under the X1 Whips brand has been to help grow the actual craft of whipmaking itself around the world.

With that in mind, one of the things we have been excited to start offering are pre-made component whip parts, with the goal of making it easier for hobby or part-time whipmakers to access high quality materials for their builds.

The first of such products we are looking to offer are our top-of-the-line, pre-made performance hybrid handle blanks!

These blanks are 16" long and made from industry standard 1/2" CPVC with a 1/4" hitching strand hole half-sunk into the coupler.

The paint used isn't your standard hardware store spray paint, but the same high-quality paint and 2k sealer used for painting plastic car parts. This means that we can paint them in practically any colour (metallic or flat) with a durable high-gloss finish that stands the test of time.

Unfortunately, painting this way only makes sense when done in bulk, and requires specialized PPE due to the presence of isocyanates in the 2k sealer when being applied (perfectly safe once cured), making the process prohibitive to those who aren't producing them in large volumes on a regular basis.

We are looking to start offering these painted blanks for $30cad (~$22usd) and we can ship worldwide.

NOTE FOR US CUSTOMERS: All X1 Whips products have been CUSMA certified, meaning there are no tarrif charges on any products purchased and shipped from us to the US!

What we are looking for right now are your top colour suggestions in the comments (even better if you provide a picture example)! Based on your suggestions we will be selecting a variety of colours to offer in our first round!

Cosplay whips pose an exciting challenge to capture the visual essence of the whip while still creating a functional piece of art.

This Megaera whip from Hades features a 12" tapered handle with a removable spike at the heel so that any "weapon" components can be removed for conventions.

This whip made its debut at the 2025 Toronto Fan Expo and I can't wait to see the pics from the cosplay all put together.
