BHA Members,
We are writing to you to explain what has been happening with respect to Bus Industry Magazine over the past few years, and to outline the changes which have taken place moving forward. Many of you will recall that the previous issue was distributed at the 2025 Montreal Convention, and mailed out following the convention for members not in attendance.
Since then, Bus Industry Editor Loring Lawrence worked on this issue, which was supposed to be distributed at the 2026 Philadelphia Convention, and mailed out following the convention for members not in attendance. Unfortunately, Loring was hospitalized prior to the 2026 Philadelphia Convention, preventing him from attending and complicating the delivery of this issue of the magazine. Loring's hospitalization was an extended one and his situation will no longer allow him to continue his editorial duties. With the assistance of BHA members Michael Lennon, Dave Decsman, and Kevin Nicol, the already printed magazines were recovered and repackaged for mailing in August 2026. We are aware that Loring has been in possession of a lot of unfinished articles and news items, and we are planning to work with him to make sure that this content is available to be used for future issues.
Members who were present at the 2026 Philadelphia Convention will recall that Andrew Gold expressed his interest in running for the position of Bus Industry Editor and was subsequently elected by the membership present at the convention. The BHA Executive has been working with Andrew to envision the future of Bus Industry Magazine, but for now, the appearance of the magazine will be modernized, and the format will remain the same. Your BHA membership will still cover the release of four Bus Industry Magazine issues. We aim to publish one more issue of Bus Industry before the end of 2026 and will look to establish a more regular publishing schedule by the time we reach the 2027 Detroit/Windsor Convention. We would encourage members to submit any news items, photos or articles they may like to see in the magazine. With everyone's help, this will get us closer to completion for future issues. Submissions should be sent to Andrew by email at: [email protected]
We thank you for your continued membership and look forward to being able to make the BHA better than ever.
Sincerely,
BHA Executive
