Hi Everyone I have decided to close BDL.
I wanted to thank everyone for your support over the years. I will be putting the business up for sale if I can sell it as a whole. If not I will sell it off pieces by pieces. Over the next while. Again thank you for your support. And thank Janice as she has been the driving force with the websites and managing everything.

📦 SHIPPING UPDATE

Today is a tough day for Big Dawg Leather. 😞

We’re very sorry to announce that, effective immediately, we are pausing all sales to the United States. This decision comes in response to the new tariffs the U.S. has imposed—and continues to impose—on Canadian goods.

To give you an idea of the impact:

Epi Pen Case: Regular price – $75 🇨🇦

Tariffs applied:
8% base tariff – $6 🇨🇦
35% U.S. reciprocal tariff – $26.25 🇨🇦
Total tariff: $32.25 🇨🇦

New item cost (before shipping & taxes): $110.25 🇨🇦

These costs are simply not sustainable. As a very small business, navigating the complexities of Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) shipping options and other recommendations from Etsy is overwhelming. Unfortunately, even the de minimis exemption doesn’t offer us any relief. 😔

Thank you so much for your support and purchases over the years. We’re truly grateful and deeply sorry to have to make this decision. We hope you understand.

We’ll be keeping a close eye on the situation, and if these tariffs are lifted, we’ll absolutely reevaluate.

OK, I did not see the problem with the lettering before but now that I see this.... yup, this has much crisper lines.

Love how fussy and particular he is with his leather work projects.

Now he needs to get this and the sheath done so he can get to a pretty pink Kerry Sling Backpack. :-)

Big Dawg was not happy with painting of the letters so, last night he removed the red and white layers and tonight has done 4 layers of the red and a top coat. He will let it dry overnight before adding more detail tomorrow.
