Powder rooms should be (at least) a little bit fun !

In a penthouse that is inspired by wood tones, and calm, soft colours, this powder room packs a light punch.

I haven’t been posting a lot of work recently. There’s a reason: I’ve been busy preparing some projects to be photographed for an upcoming book featuring the work of several Montreal designers (more details to follow!).

They’ll include a gorgeous living room and colourful dining room, a contemporary kitchen, a colourful bedroom and an art-filled living room.

I’m also planning some updated headshots for my website and social media. Apparently, it’s time.

And since a few people have asked: yes, I’m well, working, and very much back to my usual grind.

Currently on the boards: four kitchens, five bathrooms, two bedrooms, furnishing two condos, and a couple of consultations… Phew.

I still have room for a few more projects this year, from consultations to larger projects just getting started.

And don’t worry—there will still be plenty of food and travel photos to come. I haven’t changed that much.

Corn velouté with miso, chipotle, smoked maple and mezcal, with a surprise of grilled corn and smoked duck at the bottom

Heirloom tomato, shaved fennel and peach salad with peach and pumpkin seed dressing

Duck “pibil” sous vide, duck jus and orange chimichurri, with a cabbage “tortilla’’ with potato and duck confit

Oat and almond peach “tart” with lime meringue, corn and mezcal ice cream, and almond crumble

Back from CDMX after a week celebrating my husband Gaëtan Larochelle ‘s birthday — and what a week.

Lengua concept — part jewelry shop, part gallery, entirely beautiful.

Lunch at _niddo .

Bathroom selfie at Libreria Valladolid , a tiny bar surrounded by books and deep red walls. A must.

Birthday dinner at Quintonil . Perfect.

Bedroom selfie before heading out for the day.

Museo Estudio Diego Rivera — a small museum well worth the visit.

Walking through San Ángel, one of our favourite parts of the city.

Two photos : A tour of Casa Gilardi , including that extraordinary indoor pool. The whole room feels more like a painting than a room.

In the Zócalo after seeing the Dalí exhibition. The sky was showing off.

Another bathroom selfie — apparently a theme — at Martínez . Delicious.

And finally, we were lucky to be in CDMX for a day organized by ZⓈONAMACO MÉXICO ARTE CONTEMPORÁNEO , visiting galleries and artists’ and creators’ studios — including one of my favourite fashion designers, Carla Fernández . Here, wearing an embroidered piece from her collection.

We’ve visited Mexico City several times, and somehow each visit feels like the first. There is always more to discover, see, and eat. This time, I also stumbled across a few designers’ studios and came home with new contacts, new ideas, and renewed inspiration for the projects ahead.

Some of these photos are not of paintings, but amazing vignettes from the house tour at 𝘾𝙖𝙨𝙖 𝙂𝙞𝙧𝙖𝙡𝙙𝙞 - 𝙊 𝙍𝙚𝙞 𝙙𝙖 𝙑𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙙𝙖𝙙𝙚 . A precise visual, spatial and colour language that is the living backdrop for the inhabitants and visitors alike.

Two versions of me. Forty years apart. Flip between the photos…

Tomorrow marks one year since my total prostatectomy—the surgery that removed my cancer.

Looking at these two photos, I don’t just see the years. I see everything they hold: lessons, losses, successes, a few scars, and a lot of gratitude.

This past year reminded me that our health is never something to take for granted. It also reminded me why I love what I do. Creating homes, working with wonderful clients, and continuing to build a business I care deeply about has been one of the greatest privileges of my life.

Today, I’m healthy, working hard, and excited for what’s ahead.

Here’s to the next chapter. Oh, and f$&k cancer !

Maybe it would be time…

🏳️‍🌈

During Pride Month, a gym-related thought:

I’ve been working out a lot more lately, and I think we should retire the term “sissy squat.”

Maybe “Sisyphus squat” has a nice ring to it. Same exercise, fewer childhood flashbacks.

Yes, we can debate the history and intent of the word. But as someone who’s been called that more than once, I’m not convinced it belongs in our fitness vocabulary.

Food for thought.

Happy Pride Month.
