As we bring our 2026 season to a close, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to each of you who have supported us throughout the year, whether through purchasing plants, worm castings or ordering seeds from across the country. We have had the pleasure of engaging with numerous exceptional individuals over the past few years and continue to meet new ones annually. As we conclude this chapter of our 2026 season, we extend our best wishes to everyone, hoping that your growing season is truly unforgettable. We are already working on some new varieties for next season. Our community has played a vital role in helping us transform our initial vision into what RA Hobby Garden is today.

The time for the event on Saturday, June 6th, has been confirmed as 9am to 3pm. The remaining seedlings, including tomatoes, beans, peas, cucumbers, zucchinis, sunflowers, a few marigolds, and very limited pumpkins, will be available; please note that all peppers are sold out for the season. You can fill a tray for $5.00 (limit of two trays per family). We will officially close at 3pm on Saturday, marking the end of the season.
Packages of seeds will also be available 2 for $1.00.

RA Hobby Gardens' final day of the season is rapidly approaching, coinciding with Mt Brydges' town-wide yard sale event on Saturday, June 6th. We will be reviving our popular sale, initially offered in our inaugural year, featuring all remaining seedlings - FILL A TRAY FOR $5.00, with a limit of two trays per family to accommodate more families. Our hours during this event will be posted next week. We currently have just over 50 bags of worm castings remaining, after which we will be out of stock until the 2027 season. A large selection of vegetable seed packages is still available at 2/$1.00.

If you are unable to attend this event, we would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude for your participation in making this season truly memorable for us.

Please mark your calendar for our final full weekend of the season, scheduled to take place on May 23rd and 24th from 10am to 5pm. A diverse selection of tomatoes is still available, in addition to numerous other varieties that have recently sprouted and will be ready to pickup this weekend. Unfortunately, the local wildlife has had a significant impact on our sunflower crop this year, resulting in a limited availability of only a few sunflowers, a substantial decrease from previous years. A large quantity of worm castings bags remains available. If you are unable to attend this weekend, please note that we will be participating in the Mt Brydges community yard sale day on Saturday June 6th.

Another hot pepper we will be cultivating this year, one of the smallest hot peppers worldwide, is a highly renowned variety in the Philippines. A special thank you to one of our followers for providing us with the opportunity to grow such a distinctive variety. Updates on this unique variety will be posted in the upcoming months.

We are on the cusp of commencing our 2026 season, and we cordially invite you to join us this weekend, from 10am to 5pm, rain or shine. Our initial offerings will include Tomatoes, Peppers, and Eggplants, which are now ready for selection. If you plan to visit, kindly bring a box or container to transport your seedlings home safely. However, please note that we have a limited number of extra trays available for those who may require them. You are also welcome to peruse our seed room, which has been meticulously prepared over the past few months. This is an excellent opportunity to stock up for your garden, and we are offering a special promotion for the remainder of May: all 10 seed count tomato sample packs are available for any three for $1.00, with a large portion of these having been grown by us. Additionally, we are introducing our upgraded RA Hobby Garden exclusive seed package (black packages) this year, with any two available for $1.00, featuring a large majority of seeds from trusted Canadian seed companies. A substantial quantity of worm castings is also available, providing an excellent means of replenishing nutrients in your soil for healthier plants, with 80lb bags priced at $25.00. On a separate note, we kindly request that all visitors respect our neighbours and one another. While you are here, we encourage you to take advantage of the opportunity to meet fellow gardening enthusiasts and share ideas with one another. Ang and I continue to offer our seedlings on a donation basis, with the request that you only take what you can personally use. We invest a considerable amount of time and effort into this endeavor each year, and the stories from previous years of hardworking families and our senior community serve as a driving force for us to continue this journey.

Our latest shipment of worm castings has arrived. Unfortunately, once this stock is depleted, we will be out of inventory for the remainder of the season. However, we have procured a substantial quantity, which we anticipate will last until the end of May. As a reminder, each bag weighs approximately 80lbs.
