πŸ₯•πŸŒ½ Healthy Eating Initiative 🌽πŸ₯•

Join us for our upcoming "Take What You Need" Produce Market; co-hosted by the Community Health Team and TLE Department, in partnership with Urban Roots.
These markets help increase community access to fresh, nutritious produce to support the health and wellness of our community. Fresh fruits and vegetables provide the nutrients we need to grow and thrive. Improving access to these healthy foods is important to support the well-being of Elders, children, families, and all Chippewas community members.

πŸ“… Upcoming Market Dates:
β€’ Thursday, June 25
β€’ Thursday, July 2
⏰ 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM (or until produce runs out)
πŸ“ The Arbour, in front of the Health Centre at 322 Chippewas Road

πŸ“£ Any weather-related changes or early sell-outs will be communicated on the Chippewas of the Thames First Nation page.

We encourage community members to come out, connect, and take advantage of this opportunity to access fresh, healthy food for themselves and their families.

Giigidaa Inaakonigewin: Let’s Talk Law invites all COTTFN community members to join us for the second session in this learning series.

This session will focus on Natural Law and its connection to our language, legal systems, responsibilities, and Treaties. Natural Law refers to the laws and teachings that come from Creation β€” including the land, water, animals, seasons, spirit, and our relationships with one another. These teachings have long guided Anishinaabe ways of living, making decisions, and understanding our responsibilities to each other, the land, and future generations. Anishinaabe legal teachings describe law as being informed through relationships with the natural world and all life.

Learning about Natural Law is important because it helps us better understand the spirit and intent of our Treaties. Treaties are not only written legal agreements; they are living relationships that carry responsibilities, respect, and renewal between Nations, the land, and future generations. Through conversation, language, and a Paint Day activity inspired by Natural Law, community members will have the opportunity to learn, reflect, connect, and create together in a welcoming space.
