Mid-July always reminds me of being at my grandparentās house. Iāve been trying to recreate the cozy vibe here but itās difficult. The 90ās feel far away and like a different lifetime. The realization that I canāt go back to that time and those people hits hard around now and is difficult to sit with some days.
Being there was like being in another world, a softer and more peaceful one. There was always baking hidden in random places through the kitchen, in margarine containers and cookie tins. We played games and told ridiculous stories. Grandpa was always busy doing something in the yard, we joked that his w**d whacker was his other wife. Grandma always had her hummingbirds and flowers, she made sure everyone was eating, all day, every day. Huge thunderstorms would come through. It was amazing to see them from the interior, so much bigger than the island. No computers, no smart phones, no current timeline BS.
Time goes by too fast, it feels weird knowing that part is over. I always thought the decor and house looked āold,ā now I think I like it better than the current styles. I swear every grandmaās house had the same orange and brown floral furniture, tall ash tray stand, zigzag crocheted blanket and wood panel walls. So, this reel is a small attempt to recreate the cozy vibes and of course it involves crystals!
Rose Quartz is the stone of love, calm and peace. The feeling I always had surrounded by family in a cozy home. And what grandma didnāt have little hearts on everything?
Polychrome Jasper just matches the colour style, with its earthy tones. Itās also a stone of positive energy, stability and grounding. Definitely needed these days.
Tigerās Eye just envelops the brown toned vibes in such a beautiful way. I think everyone and their dog had a piece of jewelry with it back then, known as a stone of luck, protection and courage, itās understandable why it was, and is still, so popular.
