Today was NOT a good day.
Today was actually a very bad day.
But, hopefully the horrors of my day will make you smile.
Toddler tantrum first thing this morning because diapers and pull ups are no longer acceptable - chased a naked toddler for half an hour. There was screaming, crying and I got bit🤦‍♀️
Then breakfast was unacceptable because it was not only chocolate 🤷‍♀️
FFW to visiting my mom, toddler shoved a toy in nose and we had an epic nose bleed for 10 minutes.
Back home- toddler trips (on purpose for the 10th time in an hour) more nose bleeding 👍
Baby poops through diaper and all over my arm- rush to change diaper and hurray first time in ten months he went p*e, ALL OVER ME.
Back to rushing to make lunch, dropped my spoon for the pasta between the counter and stove (lost forever because it’s too heavy for me to pull) try to strain the pasta after and BAM both kids run into my legs and most of the pasta does not end up in the clean strainer, no it falls into the dirty sink because it’s the ONE DAY I decided to not clean up before lunch 🤦‍♀️
Nap time arrives, baby won’t sleep, crying is more fun 👍
Wondering where my big gift for husband is since it has not arrived yet - ADRESS IS WRONG! Since it ships internationally…. Who knows if I’ll ever actually see it 🤦‍♀️

Mondays are made more baking with mom! It’s December, yet still, in the Gaspésie we are getting 50-60mm of rain, no snow in sight yet 🤷‍♀️

How did you start the day?
-12 Celsius but Olivia wanted to go for a walk.
We drove a few towns over and found a quiet trail following the bay.
We walked, we explored, we laughed.
It was freezing, but Olivia had a wonderful morning and Miguel had a wonderful nap😂
Sometimes, as an adult things we think would not be super fun due to being cold/ grey outside…. Makes for an amazing day for our littles who are still learning about the world 🌎

Week two for this starter, our baby sourdough is maturing 👏Can’t wait until we can start to bake some bomb sourdough bread !

It took me a bit over a month of trial and error before finally getting my starter to work with me 🤦‍♀️ Hands up 🙌 if you have made or are learning how to make sourdough too ❤️

Today was not their best day.
Nor was it mine.
The day was spent whining and crying
Tantrums for everything.
It felt like they planned it, they synchronized together to see if they could send mom into a mental breakdown.
It felt like the day would never end.
But, the evening finally arrived and so did dad.
Super dad to save the day!
So often I see and hear women complain about men, about their children’s father.
I won’t lie, I complain like hell to him more than I should.
But then there are days like today that I wish he knew how important his role as dad truly is.
So to all the husbands and dads who think we don’t appreciate you.
We appreciate you more than you know! We hear you, we see you and we love you ❤️
Sometimes we forget to remind those who are most important to us, how amazing they really are !!

Tonight my plan is to make Christmas crack and fudge…. But with two kids, let’s see if that actually happens 😂

Today was, a day to say the least.
Olivia woke up in a mood.
Miguel is still teething
Both of them did NOT want breakfast- Ouff those days 🤦‍♀️

But even with all these little things that used to have consumed me and resulted in a super cranky mom day, I somehow managed to enjoy the little moments.

We played, and made a HUGE mess with all of the holiday decorations, no actual decorating was done, but the babies touched EVERYTHING and it made them both so happy ❤️

Olivia helped me make a batch of snickerdoodles! I was so proud of her for the hard work to help make these cookies!

And Miguel well, he eventually realized that the toys and activities I set up for him were fun to play with and gave me a little five minute break to make supper.

It wasn’t a perfect day, but everyone is safe, fed, warm and happy. What more could we ever really need? ❤️
