After weeks of focus and work, the pay off starts to happen and the work of The Colour Collective artists nears completion. Yesterday saw big steps happening in development of many works. We are very excited about the new works destined for The Inclusion Show, so forgive us for bragging. Akim Zongo has two new photo Giclee's destined for the show also. Have a look at these works in development and almost done. http://www.colourcollective.ca/ https://www.communitylivingsociety.ca/

Last year's Inclusion Art Show, at the Roundhouse in Yaletown, was the best one in an over two decade history. So, we're working extra hard to produce our best work, to live up to last years standard. Our artists had the best time, have a look at the evidence in these photos. We also took a video of our whole display area. Have a look at a most memorable event. http://www.colourcollective.ca/ https://www.communitylivingsociety.ca/

September always brings some reflection about the summer passing and the highlights from it. We had some major highlights this summer, from Canada Day in Coquitlam, a Photo Squad outing to FIFA preparations in Vancouver and our Community Living Society picnic. We were invited to attend the L'Arche community event. We were awarded a Bursary from the North West Ceramics foundation, in recognition of our ceramics education efforts. James Lash had his painting chosen by The Inclusion Art Show for their poster and we celebrated artist Rob Bell's birthday. A very busy summer! https://www.communitylivingsociety.ca/ http://www.potteryworks.ca/

Some really special work came out of our glaze kilns this morning. Kaori Gokita's white floral design is fresh and elegant. Bradley Merritt has another shark plate to add to his series and Dan Tell's Hockey Player design is so whimsical and purely Canadian. Linda Shier produced another fish platter in her series of very successful platters. Linda Raudonus abstract mugs are really something unique, elegant and edgy. Check all of it out !! https://www.communitylivingsociety.ca/ http://www.potteryworks.ca/

Yesterday, Snap Photo Squad escaped the rain at Brentwood Mall and found some great photo subjects there. After a major renovation and development, this facility has some stunning areas and the Squad found some very interesting views of it. Have a look at their perspective of Brentwood Mall and a great moon shot from Sheldon Simons. https://www.communitylivingsociety.ca/ http://www.colourcollective.ca/

When New Westminster sculptor Frank O'Dell was preparing to move his studio back east, he generously donated tools, books and some of his unglazed work to us. We just glazed this magnificent piece of his, a footed bowl form with an amazing rim. Frank also donated many of his reproduction Roman oil lamps, faithfully based on authentic Roman designs. Thank you Frank, for your generous support of PotteryWorks and allowing us to handle your exquisite work. We wish you well in your new endeavours. http://www.potteryworks.ca/ https://www.communitylivingsociety.ca/

If you've felt a little hot recently, in our summer weather, we have an antidote. Sangeeta Rekhi is our resident expert painter of winter scenes, and her work will cool you down. Sangeeta is working on her latest winter scene, for The Inclusion Art Show, and we're hoping that she has time for another one before October. Have a look at the incredible work of this dedicated woman, and the achievements that she has made over the last decade and a half in our studio. https://colourcollective.ca/ https://www.communitylivingsociety.ca/

Snap Photo Squad visited Granville Island last week and reminded us what a beautiful location it is. So many unique views and activities to make interesting subjects and then there's the stunning location itself. The Squad rose to the occasion and captured the unique ambiance and energy of the Island. Have a look at this treasure on our doorstep. https://www.communitylivingsociety.ca/ http://www.colourcollective.ca/

Wow, we found these real knock-outs in our glaze kilns this morning. James Lash really hit a home run with his abstract serving set, gorgeous ! Linda Raudonus abstract designs are perfection and Dan Tell's Indigo floral design has a timeless elegance. Colleen Yip designed the cutest cat mug and Jocelyn Tong is exploring a new Hibiscus design. We have developed a new glaze we call "Purple Rain" and we're loving it. Take a look at these beauties. https://www.communitylivingsociety.ca/http://www.potteryworks.ca/
