Yesterday, Snap Photo Squad visited Coquitlam's Mundy Park. A very large park with wonderful trails and lakes, the Squad found some very interesting subjects for photography. Just in time for the Inclusion Art Show, yesterday the Colour Collective painters finished or made significant progress on paintings destined for the show. Sangeeta Rekhi is almost finished her latest, very beautiful winter scene. James Lash is almost there with his latest seascape and Dan Tell has completed his Group of Seven inspired East Coast landscape. Snap Photo Squad went to Burnaby's Deer Lake Park, on a sunny fall day last week. Anyone who knows this park, will know about it's beauty and diversity of subjects for photography. We're hoping that your Thanksgiving was wonderful. We have lots to be thankful for especially after unloading our glaze kilns this morning. Kaori Gokita's new pear design is simply gorgeous and Linda Raudonus new abstract design is so elegant. Sangeeta Rekhi's Maude Lewis inspired works are just jaw dropping, so great. Dan Tell's hockey player is the cutest design in our studio. Jocelyn Tong's orange floral design is beautiful and becoming popular with our customers. Snap Photo Squad member Bradley Merritt, explored the New Westminster waterfront yesterday, on a beautiful fall day. Our waterfront offers a unique mix of history and new, parks, nature and working docks, and a river bustling with boats and trains and art installations. Artist Linda Raudonus has made a reputation for herself with her original abstract paintings. They're so popular at all of our shows and are a top seller for Linda. However, Linda is a very serious potter, who works on the wheel several times a week and is very adventurous with her glaze designs. Lately, Linda has been exploring an abstract, mid-century modern feel to her latest pottery pieces, as well as lots of experimenting. Forgive us for going on about The Inclusion Art Show, but this is our 21st year of participating and our artists and staff get so excited about the event. Honestly, the workload for preparation is intense and long, but once the displays are up and the paintings hung, it's the best event of the year. We see old friends and meet so many great people, including our artist's families and friends. So many treasures in our glaze kilns this morning, just in time for Inclusion Art Show. James Lash has a new design in his old farmhouse platter and Kaori Gokita is continuing her delicious Pear designed plates. Colleen Yip's green and polka dot set is spectacular and Linda Raudonus is still producing her stunning abstract and blue dot designs. Jocelyn Tong continues with her new floral design that we love. Yesterday, Snap Photo Squad visited Simon Fraser University's Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology. They found a treasure trove of artifacts and interesting subjects for photography. We learn so much about our beautiful part of the world, through the work of the photographers. Their excursions around the Lower Mainland have shown us so many venues that we've missed in our busy lives.
