Yesterday, Snap Photo Squad visited Surrey Art Centre, in Bear Creek Park and caught some great shots inside the art gallery and outside in the park. If you've never visited this Gallery, do yourself a favour and drop by. The photographers found some very interesting works, including a sculpture by one of our favourite people and a big supporter of our studio, Keith Rice Jones. Enjoy this trip through the gallery, courtesy of Snap Photo Squad. http://www.colourcollective.ca/ https://www.communitylivingsociety.ca/

A huge congratulations to James Lash, whose latest painting has been chosen by the Inclusion Art Show Committee, for this years show poster. James has had many successes and acknowledgments over his 26 years of painting with The Colour Collective, but this is a new one. The other members of the Collective are working hard, developing their latest and starting new works. So many beautiful paintings coming soon! http://www.colourcollective.ca/ https://www.communitylivingsociety.ca/

Artist Kaori Gokita is a Diesel engine of creative energy. Kaori is a painter, potter, photographer and loves to sketch in her spare time. Wow! On top of all that, Kaori wants to learn some pottery production skills. So, she is working with staff member Danielle, to learn how to slip-cast our moulds. Kaori is a very quick study, so she is already participating in regular mould production, and having a great time. It's a great thing to watch. https://www.communitylivingsociety.ca/ http://www.potteryworks.ca/

You can't run a pottery studio, for artists with diverse abilities , without some very special potters working there. We're thinking it's time to give a shout out to 4 incredible women. Arlynn Nobel, Jesselin T'Kenye, Ami Sangha and Moni Feizabadi, are all extremely talented potters in their own right, who come to our studio to teach and support our artists to thrive. They bend and stretch and explain and nurture, and give everything that they have to our group of grateful artists. We thank you, with sincerest gratitude. http://www.potteryworks.ca/ https://www.communitylivingsociety.ca/

We are so thankful for our Monday morning kiln unloading, it makes Mondays bearable, especially when there are so many beautiful pieces as this morning. Ryley Jensen Fisk has turned out these spectacular Ramen bowls, and Linda Raudonus continues with her Mid-Century Modern inspired abstract design. James Lash has really captured the whimsy of Maud Lewis with this platter and Sangeeta Rekhi's bird vase is perfect. Arlynn Nobel's mugs are always a highlight in our kilns and Kaori Gokita's floral jug is beyond cute. Check it all out. https://www.communitylivingsociety.ca/ http://www.potteryworks.ca/

Yesterday, Snap Photo Squad took the Q to Q ferry to Queensborough and found some beautiful nature shots. The trip across the Fraser River was the fun part, but they equally enjoyed exploring a new venue and finding a lot of natural settings. I'm sure they'll decide to revisit Queensborough again soon, if only for the ferry ride ! https://www.communitylivingsociety.ca/ http://www.colourcollective.ca/

Yesterday's Colour Collective studio session, saw some major development on several works. Bradley Merritt finished his whale painting, his first painting with us and we are all stunned. Bradley is a serious talent, stay tuned for his future work. James Lash is closer to completion with his landscape and Geoffrey Lee is on fire producing new abstract works. The new works for next fall's show season, are rolling out and it's looking like a bumper crop of gorgeous work. http://www.colourcollective.ca/ https://www.communitylivingsociety.ca/

Artist James Lash has been hitting home runs in our studio for 26 years now, so we've seen him produce many gorgeous paintings. However, I don't think we've ever seen him quite as excited about a work as he is about his latest landscape. This work is being considered for the Inclusion Show 2026 poster, even though it's still being developed. James is full of smiles when he sees it and he's very eager to start work on it every painting studio day. http://www.colourcollective.ca/ https://www.communitylivingsociety.ca/

Artist Lydia Kim has an enormous creative energy. Lydia paints, draws, hand builds, wheel throws and glaze designs her own work. Recently, Lydia created a new series of cards, each unique and featuring a cast of characters that give us a view inside of Lydia's world. Lydia has an artists eye for detail and a natural ability to express her views, with simply a pencil. Enjoy the view ! http://www.colourcollective.ca/ https://www.communitylivingsociety.ca/
