My wooden ETSY shop is 6+ years old; last year was the worst. I'm not whining β I'm analyzing and thinking about what to do next. ETSY took 40% of my total revenue β all fees, transaction fees, listings renewal, etc. My stuff is priced very reasonably because I see woodburning and crafting as a hobby and therapy and not as a payout for my time or some value exchange for my art. After materials, government taxes and shipping costs, the earnings barely cover materials and tools costs. I have close to 400 items in my shop, and today I see 2 solutions β one is to empty my shop entirely and build a separate website (which will pretty sure not sell anything by itself) or leave a minimal amount of items on ETSY and wait for the better times? One more question: Are there any good places to organize a giveaway to bring more traffic to the ETSY shop or a future stand-alone website? Sorry for the long text, and thank you for your opinion!
